Josef just doesn't look healthy. I think he had one touch within 25 yards from goal. He clearly isn't his self and probably would have come out at half, but the Sosa goal made is some what interesting before half.
Controversial opinion - Bello is not dangerous at all in the final third and he seems to lack creativity on and off the ball in the final third -- he just camps out as if he is going to win balls in the air... I think his strength now is actually defending and would like to see defending be his priority vs being the deepest man on the field. He lost the ball almost every time he had in the final third and never was able to get open down the flank. He's not using the width of the pitch like he used to, he used to stand on the touch and was always wide open, now he's gravitating to much inside without the ball and just stands vs any dynamic movement.
EDIT -- WANT to add -- Bello has become a very very good defender, rarely gets beat and tracks guys down extremely well. I've been harsh in the past about this aspect of his game and I think it's now actually his strength.
I think Heinze also made a mistake chasing goals in game 1 and that really affected last night. Giving up 3 goals in the first game was too big a hole to climb out of. its only been done twice, and both teams were at home for the 2nd leg.
Hate to say it, but without barco out there, this team is basically a USL roster. Sosa is a legit, but he looks exhausted in the 2nd half of games -- will be interesting to see how he handles the entire season and the challenges of the travel in the MLS. Robinson is also solid.
if anyone saw the exchange between Curtin and Henize, here is the post game comments from Curtin
