Heard that the Troup travel teams and Korean travel teams (from Troup to Montgomery AL) have joined a Dalton club and will play in SCCL next year. I had heard Troup was unhappy with AFC.
Anyone have any more info?

Anyone have any more info? Don't have any more information but this doesn't surprise me that they were unhappy with AFC and their leadership. I have heard a lot of that since SM took over. I'm not sure it's SM as much as the leadership structure after him and other coaches and their want to always take as many teams as possible even after their 2nd team with the 3rd, 4th, 5th team being money grab glorified recreation teams that some good kids get stuck on.

I think many of the issues at AFC are experienced at other clubs-especially at branch locations (give us your money but don’t expect much in return). No movement between teams (up or down). I’ve known SM for over 20 years- I can say without a doubt he is a great coach-however I personally have issues with his management style (it’s a “me” problem). Anyway-I hope the kids at Troup and the surrounding areas get a shot at playing some decent soccer.

Nope you mixing that up with GA Storm. They were part of GA Storm then all of a sudden they were part of AFC. SSA had nothing to do with them. On a side note. I have met SM and my son has done camps put on by him over the years, and I agree he is a great coach. Sometimes great coaches aren't the greatest managers though when it comes to the logistics and admin part of a club.

Yeah-BR at GA Storm caused a lot of heartburn-So Troup went in search of a new “partner.” SSA was considered, along with Concorde and Red Star. At the time, AFC seemed like a fit. Unfortunately, It looks like it wasn’t. Not sure why they’d team up with NGSA though. If I had to guess, it would be so that if it didn’t work out they could walk-no binding agreement.
