In an age where every organization has shown great flexibility, the GHSA's Executive Director's, Robin Hines, recent actions have reminded us how important it is to have leadership in our ever-evolving world. We have teams from the east cost of GA traveling to ATL just to play other east coast teams. And we have teams in ATL travelling out east just to play cross-town rivals. Not only is this 3-4 hour ride logistically nonsensical, but it quashes student body participation. This is only heighted by the most recent "crisis": gas shortages. If any car full of family members or students who do decide to travel (I would think the urge to see their friend or child participate in a pivotal HS experience could lead some to this conclusion) find themselves stranded on the side of the interstate and God forbid in an accident, we know who to blame. I trust Mr. Hines has had at least the foresight to put his insurance carrier on notice. Despite reasonable and rational requests to accommodate this issue, Robby Hines and his executive leadership have turned a cold shoulder to the students repeated requests. There is a strong parental movement in our school that have already started to petition our HS to exact as much pressure on GHSA. I encourage you to reach out to your AD or principal to voice your frustration with GHSA's leadership. And if you have not done so already, I would urge you to send a personal note to Mr. Hines and his team. This small-ball mentality is Bush-league. Our students deserve better. www.ghsa.net/office-staffrobin.hines@ghsa.net ery@ghsa.net kevin@ghsa.net don.corr@ghsa.net

I think Bremen wins the longest distance traveled award. Bremen to Savannah is a long way.
