Players and parents leave teams for many reasons. If you kid is not getting better at one club does not mean they will be better at another club.
Child and parent needs to own it as training is what improves your play and it takes work. If you don't put in the work your not going to improve no matter what club you join.

Upcoming U13 (09) or Current U13 (08) ? I'm sure upcoming U13 (09) is what he's referring to. It's when they move from 9v9 to 11v11 and it's the end of the Academy years. SCCL expands to several divisions at U13, ECNL starts at that age, etc. Just a lot of changes, which causes a lot of movement.

I hear that Concorde is expecting defections at various age groups. Apparently they had difficulty filling their 2 team ECNL rosters for games last week. I have seen some of the CF kids at ID sessions.

I have seen some of the CF kids at ID sessions. Could you name the age groups?? Because there are some funky things that happened the year and it could be due to those. To name a few... SSA un-partnering with CF, the stupid age mandate BS for spring players between 8th and 9th graders, make up games from fall because of COVID, etc...

I would be shocked if Concorde has any problem filling up its teams. Normally tryouts are absolutely bonkers with the number of kids trying to get into Concorde. I can’t imagine this year being any different. Kids at ID camps is not a very good indicator. Mostly kids hedging their bets due to the influx of kids at tryouts.

There are 17 boys team in the rising U-15 SCCL Summer League. 8 of those teams are Concorde. I also don't think they will have an issue fielding teams.

I’ve heard the same about Concorde. I also agree that they won’t have a problem fielding their teams but they will probably lack some quality in those second teams that’s for sure

CF scheduled mandatory practices for top teams last minute to Keep kids from going to another club’s ID camp. Doesn’t sound too confident to me, but what do i know🤷♂️

Doesn’t sound too confident to me, but what do i know🤷♂️ I have heard the same for Tophat to include virtual meetings. Not sure how that would affect me if I didn't like how things were last minute practices and virtual meetings would not change my mindset at all. All the clubs have issues whether you can stomach them is up to you. But to each their own and for me it's always about what is best for my kids advancement and joy.

There are several players across the 2 teams that are pretty much guaranteed spots and are still looking at other clubs for a variety of reasons.

If people and players don't keep an open mind and explore options every time they have to sign a year's commitment, then I would say they aren't doing it right.

I used to not agree with that statement but now I agree 100%. It is not necessary to always go to other ID camps, but at least discuss it as a family whether they are in the right place. Pre-tryout and ID camps are good thing to do if the answer is anything except a strong "yes" to the right place question. This week we went to 2 different pre-tryout camps. We ruled out one place as it did not feel right plus was too far with the traffic going back to pre-pandemic levels. The other is where we will do the first day of tryouts. There is another place we are strongly considering that we just couldn't get to this week, but is definitely needing a look. I hope all kids and parents are deciding what is right for them and not just sitting put out of habit.
