Is Rush looking to become the next Big Club? They are up to three locations--Milton, Dunwoody, and Gainesville.

What league will they play in. They are not in either MLSNEXT or ECNL at the older ages.

If that happens the girls on the 05 LSA team will be pissed to be moved to SCCL from the NL

I was told that LSA tried to get GAL but were denied because they almost couldn't guarantee full teams across the board. This non-merger may give them the personnel to meet those needs thereby ensuring they are successful next year in fielding a full GAL roster across all ages...

I’m not sure how you combine or merge teams whose fields are 45 miles apart?

I’m not sure how you combine or merge teams whose fields are 45 miles apart? You don’t. Teams stay intact at each location. On the rare occasion a “showcase” team could be made with the best players from each location.

I am sorry because I was an LSA parent many years ago and I wish them the best, but they don't even have teams in all age groups let alone competitive ones. How on earth do they think they should get GA? They are not worthy of DPL or SCCL-C. Sure they have a few competitive age groups on the girls side but no way do they belong in anything that deals with club wide top level teams. I am currently looking around for my second kid due to a coaching change on her team and LSA does not have a team in her age group.

Club based leagues are purely about control. Not even principally about money but that’s obviously an offshoot of control... why shouldn’t a high achieving team at a small club be able to stay together and contend? Why must those players have to go join a mega club? Because of greed. That’s why.

I’ve said it before-in a few years there will only be 5 or 6 clubs-everyone else will be affiliated.

As the SCCL-Club proved this spring by incorporating winners of P1 into SCCL-C, a good one off team can be included in SCCL-C. I think that each promoted P1 team had to play all games as away games but that is fine. There should be an application process with defined criteria (other than winning P1) to include a good one off team in SCCL-Club.

Without doing the research, how did those promoted teams do this spring? Any of them win the brackets?

That National League has developed a club league and a team league is a step towards a club centric processes nationally (in addition to all of the alphabet leagues). LSA does have a problem with numbers though. They always have but in my days there they at least had one team in every age group. Now they are missing several age groups and it is not all due to players leaving. Sometimes it is no players coming in at academy ages. My player that I was considering moving there is academy age and they have no team.

In case the age you are describing is a current u12, LSA actually has a competitive u12 team but they are all playing up as LSA has 2 u13 teams playing in the SCCL premier 1 And 2 brackets . But you are correct there are still some age gaps on the girls side partially because of combined teams and partially with the number of girls they lose to Atlanta fire and ufa
