Don't have a good feeling about this weekend as far as the weather goes. That was a frog-strangler yesterday and I don't think we're finished with the rain yet. Alot of clubs spent some cash re-turfing their fields during the offseason and will probably be very careful in protecting them. We'll have to see I guess. Neither of my kids have had practice so far this week because of rain and one hasn't even started at her regular practice fields yet as they are letting the turf take hold.

Oh yeah we had to close half our fields this summer to re-sod and whatnot. Considering we just started rec practices Tuesday and the fact the older ages start games this Saturday I'm kinda hoping for rain. I've got a brand new u14 team that hasn't even practiced yet and we play at 9am. I hate rescheduling, but if our first practice gets rained out tonight it'll be interesting to coach a team I haven't met and have no idea of where they play. Especially with half of them moving up from u12s. Oh the joys of being nice and helping the rec program. Haha
Best of luck to everyone though!

My guess is yes. Friday has a low rain percentage, and the rain Saturday is not suppose to come in until the afternoon.

Nope not a single one. Though this is a Rec team so it's not ultra competitive and I got pulled into it last minute since the original coach backed out about two weeks ago. I'm just hoping LSA doesn't have an Athena team playing rec to run up the score. Haha

Haha had me worried! our rec program at our club just started last week so they might have gotten in 1 practice, so I wouldn't worry about it.

New to Georgia from California... and aside from the lightning... My son would LOVE a chance to keep cool with a shower during the game. This humidity is going to be hard to adjust to.

Nice! I have a pretty big rep for Soccerforum'ing in California: www.socalsoccer.com/forum/index.phpIt's huge out in cali. I also work for an online entity and if you want me to help build this site... please let me know. I have some great pointers on how to get it to the level of the one linked above. Great! chuckyb will send ya a PM with the background of why this place was created, probably won't be until Sunday. Got soccer all night and all day tomorrow and capped off with silverbacks. Welcome to the atl (or Georgia). Keep us updated on any good dialog on that forum. Impressive participation over there. A lot of youth soccer discussion is generic across states! I'm sure you will continue to visit that place!!

I've seen fights, I've seen "party moms" drunk at games, I've seen players yell at their parents to "shut up." I've also seen refs claim someone flipped them off and to "meet them in the parking lot" (I didn't flip him off... it was the guy next to me.). I love the new club I chose for my son and the directors seem to be in tune with highly competitive play. In California, the Surf Cup is the top of the line. What are the top of the line tourneys out this way?

Hard to say. Club Mergers are the norm lately and longstanding tournaments are getting a shake up. What age is your son?

Welcome to Atlanta where the players play! LOL:) Some Ludacris and Jermaine Dupri (Native Altantans) lyrics are in order, methinks!
