From Al Tylis (DC United, Swansea City)- In the US, more people watch Liga MX than MLS and EPL combined.

If that is an accurate statistic, it does not bode well continued growth of soccer in US.

That’s not interesting to me. Do you know how many Mexicans or Americans with Mexican ties are in this country? I have tried to watch Liga MX but just can’t get into it.

Am I the only one who can't get past the massive amount of advertising on their kits? I mean, I get that every professional club on earth has a main sponsor on the front and usually a secondary sponsor on the shoulder(s), but Liga MX kits look like something out of NASCAR. It may be high-level soccer, but it looks like a minor league with the amount of advertising. Which makes it feel like a minor league when I try to watch.

I have always wondered which is more expensive--the between the shoulder blades spot or the butt sponsor?

Agree - once you get to that level of sponsorship, it becomes way to much and feels to intrusive and defeats the point.
I personally don't watch Liga Mx, don't even know what channel its on. I watch very very very little MLS outside of Atlanta United. I have very little interest in most MLS sides. Occasionally will vege out and watch the LA teams or Seattle or Portland. but that is really it.

There was a reason that USSF/MLS/SUM jumped on the Liga MX wagon. The reason is always money, so it makes sense. Even if hard to believe.

Same for youth clubs who manage to find a sponsor. Good business decision.

That is a bridge we are being sold. Don't believe for a minute Doug Garber doesn't have a open line to Candy Cone whenever he wants.

Heck, I'd be willing to have my kids shirts loaded down with sponsors if it meant I didn't have to pay the obnoxiously high fees we are all charged!! (jk, ...kinda )

Put a logo on each side of the butt if it gets the cost back down near a grand for tuition!

I don’t know why this isn’t more common. Exclusivity is bad for soccer.

It’s a great thought but I can hear it now: “Great news parents-b/c we have so many sponsors this year we are lowering your fees from $1900 to $1800 a year.” Applause 👏 all around. …unfortunately since we have so many patches the new uniform cost will go up from $350 to $500. 🦗 (I’m cynical I know 😬).
