Sooooo.... I know ECRL is the new craze in Georgia but folks ... it ain't all of that.
As the 4th team down at Tophat (SCCL-CLUB team), our girls beat 4 out of the 5 ECRL teams they played throughout the season. 1 was a SC team and the rest from FL. Our team finished 5th in SCCL (all by 1 loss was by 1 pt). Played 3 DPL teams out of FL and either beat or tied them.
ECRL is made better with the ATL teams being added but it's not equal to DPL by NO means. I've witnessed this first hand.

Couple of points: ECRL teams from Atlanta won't be playing ECRL teams from Florida. ECRL teams from Atlanta will play each other, BUSA and some from SC & NC. How do you pass judgment on an entire league based on what your one team did against 5 clubs in one age group? Most of these ECRL teams are simply SCCL-Club teams being moved into ECRL, except for UFA, who is moving their girls' NPL teams into ECRL, so no one is under the illusion that this is equivalent to ECNL. It's simply the 2nd teams at most clubs, except Concorde, who has a deeper pool of players than the other ECNL/ECRL clubs in Atlanta. And then I have to ask - WTH is your point in belittling the league? I don't see any grandiose statements on this board about ECRL, so who pissed in your cornflakes while wearing their ECRL patch on their jersey?

BUSA just played in SCCL so again the ECRL league isn't any better than SCCL. Great point ... it does depend on the age group but seriously ... the league is not worth Inter or Roswell putting their top select teams in it b/c it's under the ECNL brand.

Tophat is experiencing a lot of loss on the DPL and SCCL-CLUB levels ... not sure about GA loss or gain. BUT most of them aren't trying to make ECRL teams ... they're going for ECNL, GA or DPL teams.

The UFA ECRL teams were their former NPL teams from UFA’s Fowler Park location. The UFA SCCL-C teams are out of the Norcross location and didn’t change leagues. In fall 2021 - the former UFA NPL teams will be playing former SCCL-C teams. - the UFA SCCL-C teams will be playing against former SCCL Premier teams.

Here's the announcement from early April: www.ecnlgirls.com/2021/04/07/ecnl-girls-regional-league-expands-to-create-new-ecnl-regional-league-south-atlantic/The Southeast division teams will play each other twice in the fall - so that's 10 games. There will also be some crossover games with the Carolinas division, but not all of them. I think maybe 6 or so games against them.

Are there more, or is 16 games a safe assumption? Here's what it looks like on the girls side: www.ecnlgirls.com/2021/04/07/ecnl-girls-regional-league-expands-to-create-new-ecnl-regional-league-south-atlantic/ECNL GIRLS REGIONAL LEAGUE EXPANDS TO CREATE NEW ECNL REGIONAL LEAGUE – SOUTH ATLANTIC
RICHMOND, VA (April 7, 2021) – The ECNL Girls is excited to announce continued expansion of the ECNL Girls Regional League platform for the 2021-22 season. The current ECNL Girls Regional League – Carolinas will be expanding into the Southeast region, welcoming clubs from Georgia and Alabama, and rebranding as the new ECNL Regional League – South Atlantic. The new league will consist of sixteen clubs across two divisions: Carolinas and Southeast.
“The ultimate mission of the ECNL is to provide an environment for players to challenge themselves and discover their personal potential. Continued expansion of the ECNL Regional League reflects the growth of the sport as the level of play continues to rise year over year,” said ECNL Girls Commissioner Jen Winnagle. “The emergence of two divisions in the South Atlantic League will enable players in this region to test themselves against other talented players that they may not have faced in the past, giving them opportunities to test and push themselves.”
The ECNL Regional League – South Atlantic will feature both divisional competition and cross-division competition to make a robust regular season schedule for all clubs participating. This expansion will continue to grow the platform and enhance overall competition.
The two divisions, consisting of ten clubs from the Carolinas and six clubs from the Southeast, are as follows:
Carolinas CESA Charlotte Independence North Charlotte Independence South Charlotte SA Blue Charlotte SA White NC Fusion NCFC Youth Elite NCFC Youth Premier South Carolina United Wilmington Hammerheads
Southeast Alabama FC Atlanta Fire Concorde Fire Platinum Concorde Fire Premier GSA UFAMy guess is that in the fall, the teams in the Southeast division will play each other home & home (10 games total) and then play 6-10 additional games against teams from the Carolinas division either home or away. Not sure how many total games they would be looking for each team to play. And no idea what the spring would look like for U15 & above, but would probably be similar for U14 & below. Would guess if you don't play all 10 cross-division teams in the fall, you would play the ones you missed in the spring.

Also, while I’m at it, I was only thinking about the Atlanta teams for the upcoming schedule that’ll include other states.

GSA held a Zoom session on Monday evening to discuss ECRL. Apparently the schedule will be 14 games next year, with 10 against Metro ATL teams & Alabama, plus 4 cross divisional games against teams from the Carolinas. Apparently for GSA these 4 games will be on the road with 2 in SC and 2 in NC.

From what we were told, they are supposed to be. The Alabama game will be a day trip. The SC games will be together with a hotel stay Saturday night, and the same for the NC trip. The only other trip will be to the ECRL Showcase in January, which is currently planned for Florida, but not 100% confirmed. Any other tournaments / friendlies are at the discretion of the club & coach.

I don't know about the boys, but with the Girls ECRL teams, based on performance and winning your division 7 ECRL division winning teams + 9 ECNL teams qualify for the ECNL Open Cup. Open Cup Blurb: The ECNL Open Cup includes qualifying teams from ECNL Regional Leagues and from member clubs of the ECNL. Sixteen teams at U15, U16, and U17 compete for the Open Cup Championship at an event including almost every college in America. Here is more info on the ECNL-RL - bit.ly/3g5XR2L
