True, but it is usually used as an entry point to get your certifications, learn and make city, state, regional connections. They tack on bonuses for extra-curricular activities outside of just a good player. Nat'l Team call-up(bonus), signed HG(bonus), top goal scorer(bonus), etc...

So, if you are really lucky, you may get to $45,000… 🤣. Kidding-I know a former US Soccer scout , and he said it was a decent gig…and yes, you make a lot of contacts. He also got two players placed on the USWNT Pool.

Why does an AU scout need to attend and watch all AU and AU2 matches? Isn’t a scout supposed to find players OUTSIDE the current teams?

Why does an AU scout need to attend and watch all AU and AU2 matches? Isn’t a scout supposed to find players OUTSIDE the current teams? Sometimes it's not just about finding the best player, but filling a need the team is lacking. You are best suited to know what the team needs if you actually watch them and see their deficiencies

Given the comments made by many posters (myself included) about what ATL UTD needs, there are many on this forum who appear qualified for this opportunity…😬

Anyone care to give a “scouting report” on the game last night?

Anyone care to give a “scouting report” on the game last night? We are in trouble. Can't score. Midfield was a giant mess. Defenders did not communicate well. Losing Hyndman hurt. No Sosa last night. No Josef. Will have Bello, Robinson, Guzan and Barco out soon due to games for their country. We have no depth. Good to see Chop and Wolf and Conway play. They all have tons of potential but are green
