It's that fun time of year when we can see how teams have changed from spring to fall. Here are my guesses for this weekend's U14 girls games. Anyone have picks for this age group or any others??
Athena A
TH Gold 3 - Roswell 1 - Welcome to A Roswell! You have a heck of an opponent for your first game. Word is that TH got even stronger than last season.
UFA 3 - NASA Premier 0 - UFA ought to be very strong again. I'd look for them to finish in one of the top couple spots. NASA is very deep at this age group but Premier should struggle against UFA.
UFA Norcross 2 - NASA Elite 3 - UFA Norcross did well in the preseason. I wonder how many changes there were with the UFA merger. NASA Elite will be another challenger for the top spot in the standings.
Lady Chiefs 2 - DSC 2 - Sounds like Chiefs lost a handful of players. That and moving up a division might make this a rough season. DSC won't be one of the stronger A teams so this ought to be a decent game.

Rush 0 - TH Navy 2- Sounds like TH Navy got stronger too. They struggled against A teams in the preseason but ought to do well in B. I haven't heard any news of Rush this season but their preseason results look decent.
AFU Elite 2 - SAF 0 - My guess is that the Macon/CGSA merger will help the SAF team. We'll see! AFU cruised past Rush in the preseason so they should do well.
Inter Atlanta 2 - UFA Red 0 - I heard Inter lost a few good players but they did quite well in the preseason. They lost to UFA Premier by only 1 goal and beat GSA's Athena A team.
NASA Select 1 - TH White 2 - This is TH White's first season in B. They control the ball well so they should do fine.
AFC Elite 0 - Ambush 3 - AFC lost a handful of players and it appears to have hurt them quite a bit. They struggled against C teams in the preseason. I'm guessing they requested the move down to B since the CF team that finished below them stayed in A. I don't have any info about Ambush but don't think they'll have trouble against AFC.
Sunday
AFC 0 - Inter 5 - If Inter keeps up their strong play from the preseason this one won't be pretty.
UFA Red 2 - NASA Select 2 - This one will probably be a pretty even game but with a new season who knows!
TH Navy 3 - TH White 1 - Navy should win but intra-club games always seem to end up closer than I expect.

DSC 0- Rome 2 - Rome has a forward who's very quick with her shots. If their team stayed largely the same, they should win this one.
CF North 1 - CF South 3 - CF South lost their top scorer to their Elite team but then they beat that team in the preseason. That probably doesn't bode well for Elite's season but CF should do well. North's second team seems to have disbanded a few players from that team moved up.
NASA Royal 0 - Savannah 2 - Savannah is new to C this season after winning D. They gave up very few goals in D so I expect some success for them in C.
RYSA 4 - SSA White 0 - RYSA had a couple teams finish below them in B but were moved to C this season. Their choice I suppose? SSA White finished third in D so it was a pretty big jump for them. Unless RYSA lost a ton of players, this should be a win for them.
GSA White 0 - UFA Dawson 2 - These two met in the preseason. I'll take the easy route and pick the same score.

UFA Norcross Red 1 - GSA White 2 - GSA won this matchup in the spring. Who knows how the UFA Norcross merger affected this team so I'll call it close.
Rome 2 - UFA Dawson 3 - UFA Dawson did surprisingly well at the TH tourney. We'll see if Rome is strong enough.
SSA White 0 - Savannah 4 - Savannah won this matchup easily in the spring.
NASA Royal 0 - CF South 2 - Will CF South start with two wins?
