This guy’s brother is a rather polarizing figure but I think his analysis and insights into the player pool are pretty accurate. Not real positive on the local fellas…

I think the most accurate thing he said, in essence, was we aren’t playing anybody but Mexico. USMNT will not get better unless we regularly play better talent. Frankly, hard to tell anyone’s ceiling watching them play Aruba.

When it comes to concacaf competitions we really don't have a choice so not really fair to say anything about that. They do schedule games against good competition but they are always friendlies. Someone should do something like the She Believes for our men. Then they could play a more meaningful game against good competition. Is there a men's competition like the Algarve Cup?

CONCACAF desperately needs a better partnership with CONMEBOL. I think both sides would profit.

Is it time for the US to leave Concacaf and join another? Is it time to push for the recreation of the NAFC?
Conmenol has 10 members/teams while Concacaf has 41. A redistribution of wealth so to speak is needed. Think of the perfect world where they take the bigger major players of North and South America to form a confederation while the smaller little guys get their own and get one spot in the World Cup.

IMO, if the USMNT wants to have a legitimate chance at making the WC, they need to stay in the Concacaf. Currently, based on the FIFA rankings, these are the potential countries in a federation merger, ahead of the US that they would have to beat out. Now that's not even counting a decent Costa Rican, Jamaican or even Canadian team. I mean we struggled to beat T&T knowing a bid to the WC was on the line. So I say again, let's not even put this idea out there else we come to regret that decision... - Brazil - Argentina - Uruguay - Mexico - Colombia - Chile

Italy’s recent fall and rise being a primary example.
