Does that mean male referees will finally have the opportunity to break the glass ceiling and work some of the women's games?

Nope I don't but I'm sure you missed in the article you sent that many scholars said the origin of that statement was the new testament lol. Equality does very little for a group of people that doesn't have the same level of cultivation or opportunities in order to gain experience over several years. It's like giving free laptops to all students for school to work online classes but only half the students have internet. To the ones that don't have internet they need more than just a computer to be successful in those classes. |

It's a disservice to the players - who deserve the best available referees - not the best available female referees.
Had a similar incident at youth Regionals several years ago. The states push hard to have female representation. The young female referee centering my daughters first game (U16 or U17) was so over her head she actually feigned injury to resign the match at half-time.
That's what equity gets you. Equality is opportunity. Equity is taking from those that succeed and giving to those that fail.

Correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t it a shizat Male Ref that gave England a free PK and a spot in the Finals over Denmark? (That’s not a foul vs Sterling! And I’m a Man City fan!)
Then wasn’t that a male Ref that didn’t red card Chiellini for the full on horse collar tackle against England in the Finals?
Seems like the issue is we have a lot of bad refs, no matter their sex because we have had years of a lot of caaaaaaa-crazy parents that seem to enjoy yelling at Refs who are also children.

As an old male referee, I can promise I have been over my head with U18 boys. But, when there is no one else to do it, I suck it up and try my best.
Plenty of young ladies would have done a better job, but they get sick of misogynist BS like this thread and quit.
