MLS currently has 21 soccer specific stadiums, with 3 more on the way in Nashville, Sacramento and St. Louis. 21 out of 27 clubs is pretty good. For Atlanta United, the biggest problem is the size of the stadiums. Most of the stadiums have a 20,000 seating capacity. As shown below, some are as small as 18,000. The largest is 27,000. The largest stadium is still about half the size of Atlanta United's average attendance (52,000 in 2019). While I admit that I enjoy the experience of Georgia Tech and Kennesaw more than Mercedes, there is no way that you can cut attendance in half to have a soccer specific stadium in Atlanta.

Give it two more years and attendance will cut it self like all Atlanta sports. Once the new shininess of the Dome wears off and AU stays mediocre. That’s where Blank was smart when he forced the MLS to allow him to play indoors in a football stadium, more people will go to a soccer game indoors then if it was an outside. No matter how amazing these new soccer stadiums are most in Atlanta would not attend regularly if they had to deal with it being outside.

For me, you don't need a shiny stadium, you need an entertaining product on the field. We try to eat before and/or after a game to limit food consumption in the stadium - obviously the kids eat regardless.... otherwise though, it ends up being too expensive.
I prefer the stadiums where you are closer to the action, domes usually aren't as steep so you sit further from the field. the field in the benz also is lower then it seems most stadiums. No doubt when its rolling, the place is bumping though. Since soccer has constant action, you don't need all the other distractions.
I still say the best game I've been to was game 1 at Tech, a game we lost, but damn that was crazy.

You think that Atlanta crowd is pumping wait till you experience that. Especially if they’re playing the Sounders/Reign and you get that PNW rain!

When we score that first goal the place was unbelievable.
