This is described as being somewhat of a shootout by soccer standards. Lloyd and Rapinoe with two goals a piece reminding us, even past their prime, they can both still be very dangerous. Most, including myself, probably didn’t expect this. They went 1-2-2 in the first 5 matches with the lone victory against overmatched New Zealand. In three of the four other matches, the Americans didn’t score.
Will be an interesting match to watch tonight on the replay…

Wonder if they do some kind of send off series for the 2 of them. I have a feeling both with named on the next competitive women's roster.

I don't know about Rapinoe but I suspect Lloyd is done, if not now then soon. She is talking about starting a family with her husband and she is 39. That is not as easy for many women as people make it sound. If she keeps delaying that until after the world cup then it will be even harder.

Bingo. I could see it happen in a youth game, but not at this level. The keeper should be embarrassed more so than praising Rapinoe... btw, it could have been someone else like Press, who takes corners, and I would have said the same. |

that keeper apparently had a bad day.
I still never watched the full game, but highlights make it appear they US barely held on and blew the 4-1 lead with Australia having some chances to tie it.
