A little positive momentum might be just the thing they need.

big wins for sure.
I can't watch Indy and not think about Carleton not being on a USL or MLS roster. stunning. but, back to the topic, makes me think this front office needs to be changed pronto, because if this coach turns this ship around and this team makes the playoffs and wins a game or two, you have to think about retaining him vs the comments they made originally. It's pretty easy, the front office just had to say, of course he will be considered for keeping the managerial job.

For him to have a real chance at removing the "interim" label, he would need some really good advocates in his corner. That starts with winning, which could sway the 17s which in turn could lead to certain superstar players pushing for his permanency. Sadly I don't think he should want the job, at least not with Boca in the house. If a coach like Tata couldn't win the battle and felt his only option was to leave, I just don't see Valentino standing up to Boca either. You either get rid of Boca or bring in a coach who has the resume, experience and temperament to stand up to Boca. I vote the former...

Especially if the replacement would otherwise be Seattle’s assistant coach.

With the powers that be ruling him out, it makes me think they we’re already in negotiations with a yet to be named coach…maybe before Heinze was canned.

bottom line Boca has to go. period. end of story. Not sure what his buyout is but didn't he re-sign on a 4 year contract in 2017, so by my math, his current contract conclusion is fast approaching. Could Blank just be waiting to see how things shake? Could Boca being an Athlete Rep and co-chair of the US Soccer Technical Development Committee have something to do with keeping him around? Why does that matter you may ask, well, he would or could have a hand in deciding which stadiums and cities get to host part of the 2026 WC, which would be a boon for which ever stadium and city gets to host games? Again, just thinking out loud... Update: re-sign not resign(wishful thinking)
