Probably first time ever Noonday has had rain and puddles in the fields. No sand to fill them. Games delayed with no notice no refs to do the games! They have a young girl over her by herself with no help poor girl is overwhelmed and has no idea what to do. COVID protocol equals no soap in the bathrooms! How about someone go to the store and buy a few jugs. I know this is the first weekend dealing with COVID much like the holes at Noonday.

Just shorten each game by 10 minutes that will get us back on schedule. SSA can’t get out of their own way. Guess what SSA were suppose to have rain tonight the fields are going to have puddles again. Quit banking all the tournament fees and hire someone to have the fields ready at 8am not 11am.

Literally pot holes full of water on the fields, and these holes are craters. How could they not have foreseen this. Now playing 50 min games. Total shizat show.

On some fields the whole thing will be under 2 inches of water. Holes are frequent. It is not an easy field to maintain, but it still should be done.

At least you are playing. We drove to the CESA friendlies and all games in the afternoon/evening got cancelled. At this point I would take 50 minutes over nothing.

My daughter and I have been running at noonday for the last 2 weeks to get her ready for some of her conditioning tests. They were striped earlier in the week and sand seemed to be laid in some of the low/bad spots. Looked like they were in good shape to me too. Surely that small rain storm didn’t flood them…

That's awful, I am so sorry! Are they saying they will try to make them up tomorrow? I guess I'm not as upset as I was about our team sitting it out. I hope they get their games in! They think tomorrow will be fine and they will refund half of the money to those teams that played only one game. But some teams tomorrow are scheduled at 515 which is predicted to be back into thunderstorm time. One of the parents said they heard that they may try to shift the games to earlier times for those older teams that did not get to play today by switching them out with the younger teams that did play. Not sure how they plan to pull that off.... Have friends there who have two kids supposed to play. Came up last night. Neither kid played today. One scheduled at 8 tomorrow and the other at 515. If their 515 game is not rescheduled to earlier there is a high probability that kid will have traveled here and spent two nights in a hotel to not play at all.

That is ludicrous, I'm sorry! Ugh! I hope the weather holds off until the games are played. They are going to have some irate people on their hands... That's awful, I am so sorry! Isnt Noonday a NASA field that SSA is renting? Sounds like Nasa screwed the pooch on this one and cashed the field rental check and didn’t get the facility setup properly.
But as a friend of mine always says. What’s SSA backwards? 🤷🏻♂️

A Public park that nasa has first rights to and thus typically has to agree if anyone else wants to use it, so it’s their park to use and typically maintain as a soccer facility. The county isn’t out there painting lines, fixing nets, or filling sand pits, NASA is. Same as SSA has Mudcreek.

SSA might be renting the fields but they should at least have personnel there to monitor what’s going on.
Side note had a ref come over before the game to introduce himself and let everyone know he’s been doing this for 55 years. He proceeded to not move for then a 1/4 mile the whole game. He might want to consider this his last year.

As I mentioned earlier, I’ve been running in those fields for two weeks (at least the ones on the Shallowford/Shiloh side). We’re easily in good enough shape for games. Sorry you got a field that somehow wasn’t maintained.

Sorry you got a field that somehow wasn’t maintained. Sounds like he/she has an axe to grind with SSA. Noonday isn't an SSA field. Field condition would not be there fault there. Also the field/referee/delay issue was on par with the Concorde Tourney the weekend before. Same issues went on there. Didn't hear 442Player complaining about last weekend. Second of all for 442Player, I don't think he realizes how short the whole metro area of Georgia is with referees. The only thing I fault SSA for is for forcing all SSA teams to play in that tournament and then wonder why they don't have enough referees. I for one know 6 referees from my son's team including their dad's that were out of commission for refereeing this weekend because they were playing or watching their kid's play this weekend. That is just on 1 team. I can't imagine how many certified referees play on these Select teams and how many of the parents also referee that wouldn't be able to do so either. I understand tournaments are the cash cow for most clubs, but you don't have to send every one of your teams to your tournament, especially when you are hurting for referees. That goes for all clubs not just SSA.
