So, I’ve been offered a job with an academy doing their academic program, and I am looking for ideas.
Does anyone know how ATL UTD manage their academic program for residency kids or anyone I can get in touch with?

I contacted their Director of Coach Education and Development two weeks ago and he said the AU does not currently have a residency program.

Oh. Thank you! Who would you guys say have the best models regarding schooling for academy kids? Look at Philadelphia Union, LA Galaxy, and FC Dallas. Philly Union is probably the gold standard. You can also check out the non-MLS club, Forms Academy (TX). They have a unique model that is not quite a residency, but players do their schooling and training in a unique daily schedule.

Soccer academies “teach” you how to play soccer. Why would I trust a soccer academy to know how to teach my child high school, middle or elementary school (in the case of Forms Academy)?

FC Dallas and Philly Union for sure seem to be the gold standard.
However neither first team has ever won the MLS title, and only FC Dallas has made it to the MLS finals, and that was in 2010.

I have asked and proposed and suggested for years different ways to support the AU Academy Academic piece. I would love to connect with you IRL to share information and resources. Private message me
