Super crazy. This past season was my first full season watching premier league and it seems to be more suspenseful than American sports. First PSG coach to Chelsea, then Wolves coach to Tottenham, then Messi to PSG and now Ronaldo to Man City? My head is spinning! Oh and Mbappe wants out of PSG and Real Madrid wants him? Alot alot alot going on!

I think this might be the missing piece for Man United. He will bring a newfound work rate and he will increase interest in the Man United thereby generating even more revenue...

I say it doesn’t matter - still incredibly compelling even if the champion is declared after week 36. Playoffs aren’t what makes leagues exciting. Good players and good teams do. And promotion and relegation keeps the level high. You think our country would learn from this… but we’d rather have pay to play and “parity” in our leagues. Silly.

Playoffs aren’t what makes leagues exciting. Good players and good teams do. And promotion and relegation keeps the level high. You think our country would learn from this… but we’d rather have pay to play and “parity” in our leagues. Silly. You make very very very valid points and I too would love to see Pro/Rel. However, this is America. They say the best form of flattery is imitation. There is a closed loop in all the other major, revenue generating sports - NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, CFB, CBB and it works, so the MLS imitates that model. Salaries go up, rights to host go up and colleges make enough money to fuel all the non-revenue generating sports. So I expect MLS to do the same until they have definitive proof otherwise. Plus in America, we love the opportunity to go from regular mode to "Beast Mode" in the playoffs. Finally, there has to be a plan of action, I'm not dropping hundreds of millions on a franchise with the fear that the Pro/Rel will kick in before I make my investment back. MLS and US Soccer have to have some type of plan to say in X number of years we are going the route of Pro/Rel like every other top league in the world. This is what we are going to do to shore up and define the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. These are the rules of participation - training grounds, stadium capacity minimum, etc. I mean it's not like one can survive practicing and playing at local middle schools, or can you 🤭 Nevertheless, it's a daunting task and don't know about you but I'm just very confident in US Soccer, so sadly I don't anticipate it every getting done...

Alot alot alot going on! There is no other league like it. It has talent, speed, size, history, the rivalries and the rabid fans around the world. Plus, unlike most other leagues can be viewed in almost every single country in some form. My favorite portion of the season is around the holidays when they have the festive fixtures and they play about 40 matches in the span of just over two weeks. Best part is we're usually off from work, school, soccer so you can settle in and just binge watch live footie...

no question from top to bottom it's the most interesting league.
and here is my problem with the MLS -- Bello is a starter, Bello is an allstar, Bello is now a fixture on the US national team. he only gets paid 135K a year
saw this tweet the other day, where the dog show had better numbers on ESPN then MLS

Bello did sign a 5 year contract in 2017 which kicked on in January 2018 when he was 15. AU felt compelled to give him a longer contract compared to his other cohorts maybe because they see the potential of selling his rights down the line and wanted to lock him up. I'm curious if he gets sold what his going rate would be and if not, would AU resign him to another long term contract?

Love that both Bello and Robinson are valued upwards of $4 million and rising. Hopefully, AU and the players can capitalize on it. Both players getting the love and valuation yet both took starkly different paths. Our kids need to understand, sometimes importing players like Josef is the answer, but other times, being a phenom and being offered a homegrown contract may be the answer. Then again, going to college, working hard and getting a degree before being drafted could be the ultimate pathway for you. At the end, they all have to find the right pathway to realize their dreams...
