Was traveling by car today and driving so I didn’t get to watch. Have to applaud the turnaround from the way the season began and hope for a fresh start next season with some new optimism. Wonder how many players will be sold or not retained. I suspect we’ll see a serious roster overhaul. I sure hope Boca (since he has gotten an extension) has learned some lessons and is up to this task.

Hate to say it - but spending the $$ on Guzan doesn’t make sense in a capped league.

Hard to find words for professional players raising their hand asking for … an offside call off first pass from a corner kick(!!!) instead of defending and try prevent the cross on the first goal … went downhill fast from there
I want to be optimistic next year will be much better but I can't. This team doesn't have enough quality in depth to high press for long periods, still does know how to defend zonally, and continues to rely on one player up top for goals. And this front office does not give me confidence they'll solve much. My biggest fear is the best is in the past. Despite what Darren Eales had said many times in the past about becoming a team good enough to win CONCACAF Champions League and playing in the Confederations Cup bla bla bla … the "powers that be" and part of the fan base seem content with the past success and may settle for just being a "playoff team" with a roster of average and inconsistent players at best below the top half of the starting lineup.

Shall we speculate… Who will be gone?
Barco? Hopefully find a buyer Bello? Talented youth don’t stay in MLS Robinson? Ditto Guzan? Cheaper options in a salary cap league Cubo? Should be so lucky Damm? Salary is nuts Hyndman?

Hard to find words for professional players raising their hand asking for … an offside call off first pass from a corner kick(!!!) instead of defending and try prevent the cross on the first goal … went downhill fast from there . On the first play, I think Lennon was indicating to his teammates the play NYFC was setting up , not asking for offside. In the goal, he asked for offside offense for the attacker that got close to the ball. In any case, ATL clearly wasn’t prepared or mentally ready for NYFC. This was the same lack of concentration they showed throughout the season when they couldn’t close games out.

So, instead of finding the right pieces to fix this team, we will sell some of the decent ones we have left?

So, instead of finding the right pieces to fix this team, we will sell some of the decent ones we have left? I’d bet money that some of our better players will be sold. Players capable of playing in a better league will seize the opportunity. As they should.

So, instead of finding the right pieces to fix this team, we will sell some of the decent ones we have left? Not ideal, but unless MLS changes it’s rules (salary cap, designated player , etc), not sure how much of a choice Atlanta has.
