Our team recently attended a showcase out of town and we were required to book hotel rooms through The Tournament Office. After leaving many of our parents noticed that they had been charged up to 5 times for their hotel stay. Additionally, things like non-refundable deposits that TTO collected were still charged etc. Has anyone else had an issue with TTO? Want to know if this is an isolated incident.

I’ve never had an issue like that-my biggest gripe of TTO was that the players were split up into different hotels and that it cost more that if we had just booked it ourselves.

Maybe I'm just lucky but I typically ignore this crap and get my own room and other parents on the team do the same. It is a rip-off and a kick-back to the clubs. Their rates for the hotel stays are always more expensive than booking yourself, and they typically do indeed split up teams and put them far from the fields in some instances as well.
I don't know if it was the Tournament Office or another vendor, but one of the times early on in my kid's time on his team they just completely didn't book 2 of our parents at all. No reservation at all and they had already paid and everything.
I tend to think this "stay to play" crap at least for lower teams is just a bluff. I'll stay where I want as will most of my son's team and they have never kicked our team out of a tournament for doing so. If someone ever questioned any of us I always just said to tell them you have family or friends in the area and are staying with them not that it really is any of their business.

Worst hotel company ever. Refuse to attend tournaments or use there services.
