I noticed that TH did much better over all vs Concorde in all ages. I managed to catch a couple games and the 10’s and 09’s from TH were fun to watch. Was anyone there also that might have an opinion?
I also saw that Concordes 07 ECNL platinum lost to Concorde ECRL platinum 9-0. Can anyone confirm that or is it a typo? That’s shocking if that’s true. Isn’t that ECNL team suppose to be very good?

I am certain that 2007 score was entered backward. Platinum beat regional platinum by that score.

The 07 CF team Platinum went undefeated all weekend. It was a misprint. Happy Sunday!

The real question is why did Concorde have every one of its U15 teams with the exception of Columbus pay $725 to play in the same division of the tournament. They had Premier 3 teams playing ECNL teams. Like leading lambs to the slaughter.

I find it hard to imagine that every Freshman that is U15 is playing club.

Could have done 2 4 team divisions and maybe created match ups that would be somewhat more reasonable. Still get your money from your own teams but you know, the teams actually have a chance of being competitive. Out of the 13 matches played at U15, only 2 were not a shut out--P1 v. P3 and the 2 Concorde ECNL teams playing in the final.

Was the 07 final as competitive as the score indicates? That was surprising to see such a close score.

In the top brackets it was good to see CF pair Tophat and SSA with their teams and the other local teams that normally wouldn't play during the season because of the separate leagues and club bs. It would be nice if it happened more than once a year.
TH 2011s played GSA and CF locations and won it all
TH Gold I 2010s (played up in 2009 bracket) tied CF Platinum 2009 ECNL - 0-0 & Beat AFU 09 ECNL - 3-2
SSA Pre-GA 2010s tied GSA Pre-ECNL - 1-1
TH GA Gold 2009s beat CF Platinum 2009 ECNL - 2-0, Beat GSA 2009 ECNL 2-1, & Beat CF Premier ECNL - 5-0
TH GA Gold 2008s beat CF Platinum 2008 ECNL - 4-0

The UFA 09s didn’t play this weekend, but are the best team at that age group. The Concorde 07s are good, but outside of that age group, does Concorde have an elite team? TH 10s better. TH, GSA, UFA 09s all better. TH 08s better.

There is only one group that I can think of that mismatched games helps.

While tourney's dont really mean much it does provide a litmus test of where the current teams are at the moment. There's so much moving around between academy and select that early success doesnt necessarily predict future success... Hopefully they will all play again in the Spring tourneys in May and June

It is time for them to do what is best for the players!
