My thanks as well. I grew so tired of the other forum, all its nonsense, mean spirited posts, lies, etc. I do enjoy reading these posts and often learn a lot of things, so thanks again!

I still feel sorry for the folks who don't know about the new forum and continue to go to the old forum and end up frustrated. Surely there are some people there who love it, and that's great, but I know there are some who go there and then shake their head and close it down quickly.

yea, i don't get it either, why are people sticking around there. i get occasionally checking it out, but there are people still trying to post things. my gut tells me there is probably 10 people posting over there.

i'm just glad we made it almost a year. i'll send something out for sure on the "day", but i'm glad yall have stuck with it

I randomly stumbled across this forum in July, and very glad i did! I have loved hearing the good and bad that other teams, parents, and clubs go through. Also have no idea what that other forum you are talking about is, and honestly don't think I'm missing anything. Thanks for kick starting the information!

From my perspective, there are three bottom lines here: 1. The user interface is nice, the basics for reading and posting as well as all the extras are excellent (shout box, links of interest, addition of the twitter thing, etc). Makes it easy and fun to be involved and even feel involved if you are just perusing posts. 2. The level of discourse has been outstanding. It is great to get a sense for personalities from reading new threads people create as well as their reaction to other posts. In some way gives you a sense for coming to see old friends in a weird kind of asocial but still interactive way. I look forward to hearing what specific people have to say. Even when there have been opportunities for rancor, these have been effectively diffused by respectful responses (had to get in an alliteration). 3. Soccerhouse has done a great job of managing the Forum. Keeps interesting information flowing that inspires discussion. Behaves like one of the participants rather than an Imperial Overlord (this is not easy to do). Has been reasonable and not heavy handed with cleaning up the few unfortunate events. I really appreciate this form for the civility. Occasionally I will go back to the old forum, but it's always a mistake. The comments seem to be there more for shock value than for any other reason. If I wanted to read about politics and politicall opinion, I'd go to a political site.
I appreciate the information and the perspective on topics. It seems there is a whole lot of knowledge about the game. Then there are those who may not know as much about the game but are fans of it. I fall in that category, but I learn more from coming here.

The other forum is just for fun, cant take anything serious you read over there. I found the other one first and someone posted something about this one there and then I came here. Theres days when the other forum is not too bad, but lately its been terrible.
