That's the thing about soccer. Just about any team can beat another team on any given day. Platinum tied NASA 1-1 the following day and then beat Richmond United (2nd in mid Atlantic conference) 1-0 the following weekend at Jefferson Cup before the tournament got cancelled. Platinum got revenge today and beat Atlanta Fire 4-1 today.

I meant March not may 2 weeks ago. LOL. That makes more sense. Sounds like you have to play the game to find out the score.

Can we offically say that the transformation is complete?
Concorde is no longer a destination club or even that competitive in the southeast region anymore on the boys side.
Outside of AU NASA is now THE destination club in GA and the Southeast.
Case in point the results from the last fortnight of games between the two clubs' 08 and 09 age groups That is:
NASA vs Confire Premier and Confire Platinum.
Nasa - 6 wins 1 tie 1 loss
Premier - 0 wins 0 ties 4 losses
Platinum - 1 win 1 tie 2 losses
Not to mention NASA has every Boys ECNL team in either 1st or 2nd place in the region standings.
Concorde?
That was fast! Was it even two full years?

I agree that NASA is doing something well at the ECNL level based on their standings. However, to say across the board that Concorde is no longer competitive is a stretch. You include Premier which is Concorde's second team. It's stupid that Concorde has two ECNL teams but to be fair, you have to compare Premier to ECRL teams at other clubs. As far as 08 NASA vs Platinum goes, the first game was a 1-1 tie. NASA used two trap players, Concorde none. NASA's goal was scored by a trap player. The second game was a 2-1 victory for NASA. Again, NASA used two trap players, this time Concorde one. NASA earned and deserved their victory today, but both games were obviously close. It will be interesting to see if the teams face off in the playoffs, who will emerge victorious.

Beat I can tell, with the exception of U17, both NTH and Concorde sending teams to nationals at every age group. Isn’t that the goal—get to nationals to have a chance to win a national title?

Agree NASA dominating ecnl boys. U12 is not NASA'S strength and at that age group between sccl 1 and 2 collectively Concorde dominates all clubs hands down. There second team beats the other clubs first team.

So - we need to go down to U12 to find a better Concorde Team than NASA … I am just joking. I watched most of the Concorde v NASA game (U14) and the only thing close about that game was the score. I don’t have a child on either team so I can be unbiased, NASA dominated all but about 10 minutes. The score easily could have been a lopsided victory for NASA. You mention trap players and it was not obvious to me who they were because it looked like NASA had at least 2 or 3 really strong players. All that said, it does not mean Concorde won’t beat NASA in the near future but if you’re being honest NASA put a “beat down “ on Concorde this day and you got to give them credit.

I do give NASA credit for their performance. They were hands down the better team that day in pretty much every aspect; teamwork, passing, hustle. Considering the 19-9 shots on goal advantage, it should have been a larger margin of victory. With that said, I think the two teams are a lot closer than their records suggest. While NASA is certainly more consistent in their performance than Concorde, Concorde did beat Atl Utd 3-1 in a fall friendly whereas NASA lost 6-0 to Atl Utd in January. What's the takeaway from that? I would simply say that both teams are good with NASA coming out just slightly ahead in the face to face showdown.

Yeah I can’t comment on the AU games, other than to say you never know who from AU is playing on any given day but kudos to Concorde. Anytime you can beat AU that’s a positive takeaway. I will say the game Sunday between Concorde & NASA was an exciting game to watch. I had to stay til the final whistle and missed some of my kids game 🤫. NASA has a couple very technical boys that were fun to watch. I feel like I don’t see many technical kids anymore, It’s more kick and run. Good luck to both teams in Nationals.

How did u14 ecnl boys atlanta fire beat u14 concorde premier and platinum May 4th and 5th. I was at the games, Platinum came out and was looking ahead to their match that Sunday against NASA. AFU had held theyre own with platinum last year too. Even squandering a lead last spring at GSP. AFUs starters can easily be at the top of ECNL, it’s when the bench comes in or injuries they can’t hang with the top. Vs Platinum they got goal one around the 15 min mark and goal two around 30. Kept the shutout until the last minutes of the game when Platinum got a goal in stoppage time. Vs Premier they played smart, possession and dominated most of it. Just couldn’t get the attack clicking in the final third. Luckily they got a great header goal in the second half to clinch the win. Sadly the rematches last weekend the small bench caught up with them. Platinum was at Silverbacks and ended 4-2 CF, played okay just couldn’t keep up with the CF attack. Premier on Sunday was back and forth and tied 2-2 into the last 5 minutes. AFU sold out and pushed everyone forward to try and get the win and it bit them in the butt as they conceded two goals and lost 4-2. Same old same old at AFU. Top level players who are as good as anyone else but can’t fill the entire roster and bench.

Concorde always gets super hyped up about a night midweek scrimmage at AU because if you play well you will get picked up. Parents are super charged up also. Meanwhile, AU has injuries, playing kids up and playing people in different positions while Concorde just kicks the ball and runs. Yes they scored more goals than AU that night but nobody cared except Concorde. Concorde is all physical players, hoof & second ball, you can have that style my friend. NASA was played on a Saturday as opposed to midweek. Guess what AU has basically all their players and did win 6-0. It was not a contest however NASA just got out played but they played their style of football, which is not similar to Concorde. So it sounds like NASA dominated Concorde (interesting you noted a shot difference of 19-9 as I’ve never seen anyone pay attention to that stat at u14) but AU gets brought up out of left field. What’s funny is some boys didn’t even care about playing Concorde, they wanted to play NASA because they are in first place in ECNL.
