How was it for those who went? I saw GSA, Concorde, Tophat and Inter Atlanta represented. Anyone else go? How was the experience? Great to see different competition and players to see how different teams matched up outside of Atl. Most represented well, great showing!!!

Glad the girls got to play. The boys went the previous weekend and it was a disaster. Weather forecasts called for rain and snow beginning Saturday. Temperatures supposed to start out in the 40's Saturday morning and dropping rapidly to the 30's. We played an 11am game and were notified that all games after 3:30 were suspended. Received another notification prior to 4pm that the entire tournament was cancelled. Sunday turned out to be a beautiful sunny day around 40 degrees. Needless to say, everyone was pissed, some bc the tournament wasn't cancelled in the first place, others bc they cancelled Sunday needlessly. Pretty certain no one is going back to Richmond Cup next year.

Spring 2020 we were supposed to go with our team and it got canceled of course. Well they did not refund us and said they would just put it toward their rescheduled tournament except the team was different because people quit and changed clubs and other things so not the same team at all by then. People were pissed then too.

How many teams from Atlanta really had to go to Richmond to find competitive games in season?

Parents go because the clubs and coaches force them. How many teams from Atlanta really had to go to Richmond to find competitive games in season? This ^^^ We will reluctantly go there next year if the coach schedules it. Players and parents don’t get a choice, coaches (or clubs) do.

Always run the risk of cancellation either just before (and too late to cancel flights/rooms), or worse once you’re there. Of course travel can be good for team bonding, but everything in moderation I suppose. Maybe one big trip (outside of national playoffs) per calendar year. But Jeff Cup in early March for the younger ages often comes with cold weather, with or without sleet / snow.
If you need more games and more competition, it’s always safer and cheaper to stay local and play up. Wish our team did that more and traveled far and wide less.

Has anybody received a refund for this, either as a TM or from your TM? They announced a 50% refund months ago but I haven’t seen anything
