I'll 100 admit, didn't watch a single minute of the game (all focus was on Final Four) Didn't even realize the result until this morning. But woke up to the injury note....ouch
what happened, did Martinez go down during the game?
Atlanta United today announced injury updates to three players following Saturday’s 1-0 win over D.C. United. During the match, Osvaldo Alonso suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee and Matheus Rossetto suffered an injury to his left hamstring. Alonso’s timeline is to be determined, while Rossetto will miss approximately 2-4 weeks.
Additionally, Josef Martinez has traveled to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) for reexamination on his right knee after expressing recent discomfort. The club will provide an update on Martinez’s status upon review of those results.
Atlanta United (3-1-1, 10 points) returns to action Sunday, April 10 when it travels to face Charlotte FC at Bank of America Stadium (1:30 p.m., ABC/ESPN Deportes, Sports Radio 92-9 The Game, La Mejor).

He (Martinez) was subbed off late…didn’t notice him limping. I was thinking it was b/c of recent international duty.
Atlanta won at the last minute in “Fergie” time.

oraclesfriend What is the deal with Martinez going to Pittsburgh to have his reexamination vs doing it here in Atlanta? Is Pittsburgh the new "Dr. James Andrews from Birmingham" special orthopedic?

I believe that is where his surgeon practices. Well Zlatan went to Freddie Fu who was one of the pioneers of the double bundle ACL and a fantastic surgeon. He, unfortunately, recently died of cancer very quickly after his diagnosis. There have been a number of surgeons at Pittsburgh that have been well thought of because of Fu's tutelage. Andrews is best known for UCL (elbow) baseball though he did ACLs also. Last he told me he was not doing ACLs anymore. He is over 75 now so focusing on his #1 passion.

Looks like ATL players are either going for checkups, out on Nat'l Team duty or actually going down due to injury. First Arujo and now Ozzie with a torn ACL 😓
Meanwhile AU trying to gin up more competitions for the first team. Anyone know much about the team from Pachuca?

Yea, given all these injuries, adding a meaningless game smack in the middle of the season to me seems foolish

“Meanwhile AU trying to gin up more competitions for the first team. Anyone know much about the team from Pachuca?” What’s a Pachuca? If I get Pachuca on my shoes will it come off?
