Post the freaking schedules already. A Monday before the Tournament is not a sufficient time frame to have a schedule out. By far the worst tournament I have ever seen on schedule release. They say its available today (which is already too late) but it still isn't out. Some folks do need to plan around other events that weekend it being Mother's Day and all, and yes I know teams play routinely on Mother's Day weekend, but tournament schedules are generally out no later than the weekend before in any tournament I have ever seen in the many many years of being involved in youth soccer. /rant Wow, that is pretty ridiculous. Just looked on SincSports and they don't even have the team list up either. And I actually see that they list tomorrow (May 3) for the schedule release. You're right, never seen one that late that I can recall. I swear, it can't be that difficult, can it? |

I can't imagine the holes they are going to have officiating wise releasing a schedule so late. |

I don't recall from the past, but I didn't think this was a big tournament and a lot of the top teams didn't attend. Personally I don't think it is scheduled for a great weekend since it is so early in May. Weather should be nice though. |

My guess is that they are very short on teams attending so they are calling clubs trying to get them to send teams.

Well other than the few teams that are still in the playoffs HS wise, most teams should have their full team able to play this weekend if not playing for one of the few teams still in the playoffs.

I won't argue that most teams should have their full roster available. However, I don't know that they show up to this tournament. I'm not even sure how many of the U15 and older AFU ECNL teams are attending. I am almost certain at least one won't be there.

I won't argue that most teams should have their full roster available. However, I don't know that they show up to this tournament. I'm not even sure how many of the U15 and older AFU ECNL teams are attending. I am almost certain at least one won't be there. None of the AFU ECNL teams are playing in this tournament. Only ECNL-R and lower. |

The schedules are out.
As expected, there aren't many teams in the older age groups and there certainly isn't any playing down in levels. There isn't even a U16 age group on the girls side.

Different tournament but wanted to say the ASG Capital Cup in Tallahassee is always well run. I’m surprised more Atlanta teams don’t go (Especially National League, ECNL-R, NPL).

I was joking when I made that comment because I've seen the big clubs like UFA, Concorde, GSA, always put their teams below maybe their top 1 or 2 teams in divisions below where they should be playing so they are more likely to have an all UFA, Concorde, GSA type final or to get as many of their teams medals as possible. I didn't just make that up. I have had years of watching this happen with my kids. In this case there just isn't enough teams to worry about putting teams in right/wrong divisions. I deleted my initial post since it is out now, but realized it only deleted my OP not the rest of the thread. I stand by my statement though. 11am on a Tuesday before a tournament is never the appropriate time frame to release an initial schedule. I'm sure there will be changes in the next day or two as well as teams complain or whatever..... |

slickdaddy96 I 100% agree the schedule should have been out earlier. I also understand the comment about playing teams down. We used to be at GSA and saw it first hand. It honestly made my daughter not very interested in playing because she would rather have the competition than a cheap medal. Yes the medals are nice to have, but it means a lot more when they are truly earned.
