I'm not picking on interAtlanta, but this tweet highlights the issue more than ever. The system is so broke, why, why, why does one club need to be in 5 different leagues (yes, i know others are in the same position), but for what ever reason, this tweet stood out to me more.....

The answer is easy - they don't want to hear "because you're not in so-and-so league" when they ask why a player leaves their club for another club.

Maybe it is Stockholm syndrome, but five leagues does not seem like that many when considering their boys and girls play in different leagues because MLS does not offer girls and GA/DPL does not offer boys. I think that UFA takes the cake for most number of leagues. Its pyramid looks more like a skyscraper. forsyth.unitedfa.org/npl-sccl-1525658824-1525658950-1619878713NTH--GAL, DP, ECNL, ECNL-R, SCCL UFA--ECNL, ECNL-R, Elite 64, NPL, SCCL Concorde--ECNL, ECNL-R, Elite 64, SCCL SSA--MLS Next, NPL, SCCL, GA, DPL

Maybe it’s a good idea-more kids get more exposure? I dunno though, there aren’t 5x the number of college programs, although there are marginally more pro and semi pro opportunities. If it gets more kids to play soccer I guess I’m for it…but I just wish we didn’t slap an “elite” or premier” tag on everything. I have seen only a handful of truly elite players in my 40+ years involved in the sport.

Interesting I thought it was called SCCL CLUB not CHAMPIONS? Maybe a pro/rel is coming? Or was it always SCCL Champions?

Interesting I thought it was called SCCL CLUB not CHAMPIONS? Maybe a pro/rel is coming? Or was it always SCCL Champions? This little nugget from the UFA website is particularly interesting. Are they getting rid of SCCL Club and going to just premier with promotion and relegation or it is just too difficult to explain club and premier? Southeastern Club Champions League (SCCL) Academy & Select Academy Teams (U9-U12) and Select Teams (U13 through U19) that participate in SCCL are placed in different divisions. The placement is made by a number of criteria. The league works on a promotion and relegation system. SCCL teams are placed in Premier Divisions 1-5
U9-U14 play a Fall and Spring season and compete all over GA and potentially neighboring states. U15 and Up only play a Fall season and play high school in the Spring. They also compete all over GA and neighboring states.

Because they need to offer it in hopes of retaining their better players. At a certain age good players want to be surrounded by players of like ability and commitment, that's the challenge IA has when the players get to a certain age.

TPDL is now the TSDL - The skyscraper don't lie.
I would of assumed that SAPL was going away with the addition of Elite 64... At certain age groups there were some very very strong SAPL teams, top teams at other clubs that were at a different level than a top norcross team that has been picked apart by ECNL/ECRL and other clubs.
It would be great to see Norcross get back to it's old self --top boys teams were as strong as anywhere else, and some great top girls teams mixed in. I hear the younger boys teams are getting back to original form, question will be depth.
This is where Concorde has such an "unfair" advantage -- 2 ecnl teams and 2 ecrl teams. If the teams were coming from distinct locations, I'd be more comfortable with it, being able to offer a pool of 40 players ecnl and 40 players ecrl is a major advantage with regards to player retention and recruitment.

I believe ECNL-R Premier at Concorde is filled from their Columbus location. At least it appeared that way last year. They still have the advantage of filling 3 teams from their main location for 2 leagues though.

On the boys side, one of the 3 other teams will typically be out of West--some are ECNL Premier and some are ECNL-R Platinum. It is less with the girls but also have some girls teams out of West.

The good of the game and the youth player have become secondary to the good of big club business and it points to the elephant in the room: the top of the US Soccer pyramid.

(That is sarcasm) The US Soccer establishment is broken. (Not sarcasm) The very same establishment has fans convinced an MLS team being relegated.. would lose all its fans. Imagine kids and pros all participating in a meritocracy.
