Truth be told, I did not grow up playing soccer and we are relatively new to this area, so all this (id camps, clinics, networking, etc. prior to 'tryouts' ) is kind of new to us (seemingly now the annual 'drill' going forward, lol....).
Our daughter has played a 4 years competitively and has received lots of extra goal keeper training (guest playing/up for other teams including tournaments, several RDS sessions, and summer camps (2 more this summer) in addition to the normal team practices, games, and tournaments. Feedback from others is that she's solid/competent (and very tall!) for her age (of course room for improvement, she's only 11...).
This season is winding down (playing in last tourney this weekend), and it seems likely her team/mates will be changing significantly this next year (U13 going to 11v11). Therefore, due to the relative uncertainty (feel like we're all of a sudden behind...) as a hedge we have signed her up for a couple different teams tryouts early next week.
Any suggestions, words of wisdom/encouragement, team options, connections, etc. would be welcome. Feel free to send me private message.
Thanks in advance...

How far north do you live? Willing to go to Cumming or Milton or Duluth? Also is SCCL the highest that you want to play? Meaning if she could play higher would you want that?

Thanks for the reply. We are closest to Cumming/Milton/Alpharetta/Roswell. For various reasons (considering age, developmental stage, travel time, expense, etc.), we believe SCCL is appropriate for next season...

UFA's third team in Forsyth is supposed to be SCCL Champions. They have 2 good keepers for the higher level teams so I am sure they would welcome a strong keeper for their third team.
Alpharetta Ambush's top team is SCCL.
Roswell Santos is DPL for top team and SCCL for second team. Don't know what SCCL level they will be.
I think UFA is a good bet.

Thank you oraclesfriend, appreciate the input. Another question, in your opinion, what are the caveats of trying to change clubs/teams mid season (aside from 'sunk money' and new uniform costs)?
I can't help but feel its like a game of 'musical chairs': where's the next club, who's the coach, will they get both quantity/quality playing time, coached up to the next level (whatever that might be, different for each player's phase of development)... ? At the end of the day (when the music stops, or in this case perhaps by the end of next week) you just want your kid to be in a good spot to enjoy their passion, to compete, realize potential, develop friendships, and explore opportunities; all while having fun along the way.
What are other peoples thoughts here?

What are other peoples thoughts here? It only gets more stressful. Total chess match for sure (crazy, isn't it?) Teams start to get 80% locked up by u15 with few open spots and every year there is drama and stress that starts in late April and doesn't end until June 1. If your player has 1 or 2 teams she is especially interested in, contact those coaches today and let them know what night she'll be at tryouts and that she is looking for SCCL play. Ask if they want her to come out tonight for an early look. And go to your 1st choice team on the 1st tryout night. Good luck!
