Poor showing is giving them too much credit. Defense in the back was non-existent. 1 vs 11 is not going to work.

I am going to blame the troubles in the back to age. I believe the back 4 average 21 years, so clearly not much experience. Additionally, Bradley(coach) is known for having a game-plan that exploits your weaknesses. We were constantly outnumbered in our initial third. They can't clear Juan Purata and Gudino soon enough. I think George Campbell needs to return to the bench or have him play with AU2. McFadden, needs to realize he's no longer with AU2 and finally, if they don't start capitalizing on Caleb Wiley's crosses...

Your points are all valid; however, I’m paying pro prices to watch a pro team…I can watch what I’ve seen lately from UTD at any USL-C match for a lot less. I’m trying to be understanding b/c of all the injuries and the silly (transfer) rules in MLS, but my patience is wearing thin. |

The fact that ATL UTD was not prepared for this, especially with a young back line, is a coaching fail. A lot lies at the feet of Pineda.

The performance also goes back to the building of the roster and the fail of the academy up to this point in producing players. If you look at AU rosters over the tears, it was built on which player can be brought in with a large transfer fee. GB may be the only exception although one could argue AU had little to do with his development due to his age when joining the team.

Re Bradley, I think he’s a good coach but also let’s don’t forget, they started out the match in 12th place, 2 behind AU. So it’s not like he’s the soccer version of Phil Jackson. Our team is just not good. Our entire organization, IMO, needs a complete overhaul. But Blank being Blank, he gets comfortable with front office folks and lets them wreck his teams. |

I agree that we need an overhaul in the front office. I'm hoping that now CB has helped secure MBS as a WC hosting venue, we can release him. Yes, he was instrumental in helping to get us the nod from FIFA (behind the scene stuff, pains me to admit). I believe we have the offensive firepower, it's that backline that gives me nightmares. The one thing we have to realize is we may have a voodoo witch-doctor curse on the team, with all the injuries that have occurred to the defensive 6 (GK/Holding/back 4) - Guzan in Goal(leadership), Hernandez in RB, Gutman in LB, Osvaldo(leadership) in holding, of course the anchor Robinson in CB, then add to that Lennon this weekend before kickoff, yeesh. Don't forget Almada is still on suspension for one more game, this Thursday. We may need a séance or a cleansing for real. Odd thing is Valentino coached last week and we won, Pineda came back this weekend and we're back to loosing, hmmmm 🤔 |
