Just curious, ATL SCCL fields two teams at U12. Do any of you have a breakdown by club/location of where they got their kids from this year?
If you just know club that's fine, but obviously there is a difference between leadership/coaches that run NASA/Marietta/Smyrna/Milton or Concord/Central/West/North or UFA/Norcross/etc. you get the point.

I’m not sure for many of the players but there are 2 from TYSA, 1 from Steamers and at least 1 from GSA.

Here is a list of kids that have been promoted from RDS to Atlanta United. They have not released the 2022 list yet but I would expect them to do so soon. www.atlutd.com/youth/rds-graduatesQuite a few clubs are represented.

Did these players go through RDS, RDS showcase and then made the RDS showcase travel team all before being promoted to their academy?

The RDS showcase is a new creation. The 2021-22 season was the first year they had RDS showcase team. Also, the huge crop in 2021 is a bit misleading. Most of those are young players who were doing RDS and then made the U12 Atlanta United team. Most of Those kids would have made Atlanta United irrespective of participating in RDS but it makes for a great marketing tool to show a long list of graduates from RDS to the Academy.

My child has done RDS for a year now. Was selected for the showcase this past winter and now has a tryout for the RDS showcase team. We signed up for RDS as additional training so the whole showcase and now showcase team tryouts are very new to us. We aren’t really sure of what expectations to have so we are just keeping the mindset of additional training.

The lists of all the academy players and their source clubs, are usually released in conjunction with or right after the Academy Banquet. So look on SM on or about the 22nd of this month...

I wondered if someone just knew the answer, not necessarily from AU.
My assumption is they will have two teams of 14 to 15. My assumption at U12 is that almost every kid asked will join as that or U13 is probably the peak of hysteria of chasing the dream That is 30 kids.
Most clubs don't recruit a ton before U12.
Thus, the clubs/locations would indicate better academmy/training/coaching.
True/False?

Thus, the clubs/locations would indicate better academmy/training/coaching. True/False? AU typically scouts & selects players via one of three methods: recommendations, scouting tournaments & games, and lastly, community outreach programs like clinics, camps, and RDS. This is based on conversations with current/former AU families as well as what I've observed. They frequently show the big 5 or 6 clubs a little bit more affection. They typically accept between 24 and 26 boys because they feature two teams at U12 (an old DA relic) who play 9v9. Some of those guys are actually strong U11s (5–6) who will serve as the foundation for the upcoming U12s. Those who demonstrate their inability to play the AU way will regrettably be cut at the end of the U12 season, and spots will be offered to those who were overlooked the previous year. From U13 on they tend to carry 18+ This is partially due to attrition. The "studs" on the team play up, injuries, national team call-ups, life events, etc. ensures that no more than 18 are rostered for game day. If I were to pick one club that seems to be doing it right based solely on their results, I would say NASA is killing it currently. Don't know the break down of how many boys are getting pulled into the AU Ecosystem, but traditionally it has been UFA, GSA, CF leading the charge with AFU/SSA/NASA getting some of their boys in along with a myriad of local and not so local clubs also...... Here is a show of gratitude to all the clubs that sent boys to join an AU team, last year
