Just looked at the starting line ups for both teams. Wasn't sure which was which until I got to Josef. Haven't followed much this year, but who are these guys?

2nd to last despite the highest budget, highest attendance and some of the most expensive tickets in the MLS, and our lowest ever goal to just make the playoffs seems almost impossible. And that's a team whose GM used to say we wanted to go after the MLS Cup every year and compete in the CL ... yeah Can the elephant in the room tell us what the f happened to all that?

Like we're the only team with injuries, and just like most AU reporters will continue to insult our intelligence … And what's worse, without a front office to hire the right coach and with his input bring the right players, it also feels the team is being unprotected from other factors behind the scenes such as officiating. This (getting screwed over by certain refs) has been going on for sometime and nothing has been done to fix it.

Yeah, I seem to remember the Braves having a lot of injuries and yet winning the World Series…

New flash:
MLS reporters are paid marketing. The Athletic is a little more independent but still needs access.
Referees aren’t out to get AU.

All I know is this --- Eales on twitter was being treated like some kind of saint, cult hero, legendary President etc. supporters shouting -- build the man a statue. yes he is extremly charismatic and relates to the "common" man -- he shows up at tailgates and take shots.
But -- Tata leaves, and this club has been an utter trainwreck since. I'd argue from top to bottom -- Top being the first team, bottom being the academy.
Imagine LSU building a statue for Ed Oregon. Auburn for Chizek. Enough, since Tata's departure this club has been a mess on the field. It's pretty clear who the brains of the operation was. It wasn't Eales, Boca or the "analyst" who landed DC United's Rushton. I actually had a coach tell me how incredilbe she was, they used her tools during tryouts to evaluate players, specifically 03s and 02s at that time.
I'm also hearing more and more tails of kids "turning" down AU, and as far as I can tell they aren't parents making up stories. Truth.
Either way, my goal isn't to slander the academy here, but rather Eales. I'm not impressed, that's all. I'll give him some credit for the fandemonium created, but more credit was do to this passionate fan base that supported this club early on. The 17s deserve the credit as much as anything -- I'm not big on clubs created out of thin air, but what happened here was crazy impressive. AU was the envy of the MLS. MLS 2.0 -- the new model. That is no more.
If I failed like that miserably at my job, I'd be sent permanently to the basement like Office Space.
The injuries this year obviously don't help, but this team still starts a very expensive roster week in and week out.
Sorry, haven't had my coffee yet.
