Inexperienced rec volunteer parent/coach back looking for advice again. I have been looking at youtube videos regarding formations for 7v7 soccer but one thing they don't really mention is the best way to set up when you have a mixture of experienced and inexperienced players. I currently have 6 that have multiple years experience and can play a majority of positions. And I have 4 that have either 1 season or no experience at all.
It seems from what I can find that the most common formations are 2-3-1, 2-2-2, and 3-3. What do you feel would be the best formation when you have a mixture of experience levels to sort through?
Thanks again for any advice/input!

We usually used 2-3-1 at those ages
I would suggest to be sure to mix up the squad and keep the lesser players spread out. No one is whipping in crosses at eight years old rec ball.

2-3-1 is a good one for 7v7. I would play the experienced players in the back and central. Let the kids with less experience play up top and wide. Having that experience in the back will keep a good defense (no one likes to lose at any age or experience). The experience in the central will help both ways, defensively and offensively with distribution and scoring chances. IMO, this allows the less experienced kids the room/freedom to make mistakes w/o it costing your team too much and allows everyone to develop more. Here's a site with formation options for 7v7 and rationale for the formation: themastermindsite.com/2018/10/15/best-formations-for-7v7/

That kind of breakdown was exactly what I was looking for giving the pros/cons of the different formations. It really does sound like 2-3-1 is probably the best for our situation. Thank y'all for the guidance.
