It tends to happen when you barge into the locker-room after scoring the only goal in a 2-1 loss and you upend the craft services. Allegedly, in the mist of players and staff picking up the not-so-deserved grub, they also had to contend with separating both player and coach in the new game of "who could blink first." It looks like Martinez lost and has been sent home until next week...

Everything that I have seen is his contract ends after the 2023 season. I am sure that he could be sent on loan somewhere for a year until the contract expires. |

Has to be tough, everything he signed up for is no more. They sold all his buddies and attempted to replace them with very expensive players that aren't equivalent.
Dude wants to win and is super frustrated with the organization and coaching carousel.
This organization was built on Alimron's back unfortunately. he was that good of an MLS talent.

I'm not going to condone Josef's actions but I understand it and don't necessarily blame him for them either. That being said Boca, Pineda, and Josef need to be done at the end of the season along with some others that aren't particularly good right now.
Build Josef the statute give him his due, but its time to move on and quit trying to build a team around an aging striker that is never going to be 100% anymore. I do feel for him though.

IMO it is less about "aging" and more about torn ACL combined with repeat surgery. It takes time to get back to "normal" then you add the repeat surgery and then player and coaching carousel I feel for him too, don't condone the actions, wish him well. |

Right on the heels of Miles Robinson getting arrested at The Battery over the weekend 🤦♂️ There has to be more to the story --- took a $5 shot and then refused to pay for it. come on nobody in his near vicinity just pony upped the 5 bucks. and then how can you get arrest over $5, doesn't seem possible. how can a cop waste so much time and effort for $5 bucks and again, nobody else was willing to just say here, take my 5 bucks. If i was there, I'd given the $5 bucks to resolve the matter. very odd. and back to Josef -- dude's furious, he's pissed off. I love the emotion, shows he cares, can't say that for most of this team besides Gutman, whose salary is 18th on the roster.... Injury or not, this team went from the envy of the league to the cellar. |

And he doesn’t deserve a statue, if anything this shows why Almiron should get one while Martinez was just a role player. |

best way to handle it this way --
pay the 5 bucks, contact billy bob sports writer at ajc and tell him to write a story about the racist bartender and the events that occured. but pay the 5 bucks.
I've had bartenders not come over to me hundreds of times, and skip me for others etc. Life's a bizatch.

JM has legendary accomplishments for this team but since the knee injury (and multiple subsequent infections) he seems… kinda washed. It is not surprising honestly. It stinks but it is what it is.
Maybe he just wanted to go spend a few days at the lake.
