Asking for a friend. Her son is 2016 born. She used to help me coach back when our daughters played U10 rec. Now she’s coaching her son’s U8 team. They barely have a team & he doesn’t do well with mommy coach apparently. He’s a pretty good player, is confident, can dribble & score. She thinks he would do well with more structure, so might be looking to join a club in the spring or next fall. It can’t be a far drive. Ambush is closest & I know they have Jr Academy. She’s also interested in Concorde (North I think) and someone told her they “play in a better league”. I said I doubt it for U8.
Can anyone comment about Ambush or Concorde North for young boys? Where does North practice? I know they play some games at Ocee which is very close. Thanks!

I am a TM at Ambush (a little older boys) and can vouch for the Junior Academy, current coaching staff for that age group is great. Pretty sure at that age they're all the same "league" and although Ambush only goes as high as SCCL-C at the older age groups, that won't matter for several years. I think finding a great developmental coach is more important for now. Good luck to them!

Ambush all the way. Minus the coaching and “level” business, their U8 junior academy is all in house so limited travel. Mostly on turf too between North and Webb Bridge. Unlike concorde north which uses whatever random Elem school field they can find, and then typically gets combined with Central, Cobb and West’s academy schedule.
