Question for those in Georgia at the bigger clubs. Anyone know if coaches get monetary incentives for "recruiting" players and bringing them in from other clubs? Not from a winning or improving the team/club standpoint but do they actually get paid incentives based on the # of players they steal (in a sense) from other clubs?

Short answer: Yes!
There are some clubs that tell coaches they’ll receive a bonus (think of $100 per player) if they join their club and bring over as many players as possible. This is regardless of level
I do have to say that is not common with most, just some big clubs that have a system in place for that. And they don’t just do it with coaches, also parents.

We have been in the club scene for along time and I haven't heard of direct payments but I tell you those that can recruit get better teams and more of them from the clubs and therefore get more compensation (ie salary, etc.)

I haven't heard anything like that. B But if something like that did exist, I would assume it would be for - how many of the kids that started with you in junior academy, played with you through youth academy can you replace with other kids from other clubs. Maybe a multiplier if you completely ignore your kids during tryouts and just look at new shiny object kids. Like an anti-retention bonus? |
