You can bet the Cobb fields - Mudcreek Tramore Hubert Noonday and Quest will be closed. Anything at Top Hat is mush if it sprinkled and the Concorde fields at Ashford Dunwoody. As much as I hate turf those come in handy
Hope all the games get played

As much as I hate turf those come in handy Hope all the games get played I don't mean to pick on our friend spectator, but it is a convenient time to mention this topic. It probably deserves its own thread. I do not understand the knee jerk (Ha) negative reaction to turf. There are good data on this. If one is playing on a good reasonably new FieldTurf surface, the major injury rates are actually LOWER than on grass fields, especially if the grass fields are a bit long in the tooth. We should be more concerned about our kids playing on these crappy grass fields, especially when they get to 14 or so when they can do themselves and those around them damage. I have done some investigation of this topic, and I think this is a pretty good study: Injury rates in female college soccer players by playing surfaceThe actual study is linked at the bottom of that summary. There is a lot of very interesting information in the paper, including on injury rates by position (don't let your babies grow up to be combo midfielder-striker types!) and cleat style. I think the reaction most people have to turf is based on old research where the object of study was old style (e.g., astroturf) artificial playing surfaces. I would MUCH prefer my kids played on a new FieldTurf surface than, for instance, MudCreek! Now I would also much prefer they played on a pristine grass surface that was well maintained and perfectly smooth with excellent drainage where the field was surfaced every few years. But that ain't happening for youth soccer fields.

"Joint stress" wise, new turf is likely better (if it is maintained well). I hate playing on turf because of the sliding/turf burn factor.
The amplified bounce is also annoying, but not physically painful.
I'm certain that no artificial turf fields will soon be taken out for grass.. But I hate everything about it aside from durability.
If natural grass fields had the 24" gravel and drains below them.. They'd also be superb with very little need to close whenever it rains.

Designed by the army corps of engineers with the gravel and drains. Awesome complex. If clubs here - well if cities and counties here would do that, it'd be great but taxpayer money gets funneled elsewhere Not a fan of turf because the turf fields around here aren't good new turf.
