This might be the most interesting part: no ties
Round One Best-of-3 Series
Every Round One game will have a winner; no ties, no aggregate score.
The matches will be hosted in a home-away-home format:
Match 1: higher seed hosts
Match 2: lower seed hosts
Match 3: higher seed hosts
If a match is tied at the end of regulation, no extra time will be played, teams will participate in kicks from the penalty spot to determine the winner.
The first team to win two matches will advance.
are all these games on apple tv or linear tv bought by fox? playoff games behind a paywall is crazy to me.

A twenty five year old league should really stop messing with things. I’ll be at Saturday’s home opener in my buddy’s suite but it’s only for the fellowship. I have a very hard time caring about MLS.
And three games for a playoff series is too much.

And three games for a playoff series is too much. It will be interesting…I am wondering how long until it’s best of 5 or best of 7? I still think they should bring back the regular season no tie rule and start penalties at midfield. Didn’t resemble soccer but it was fun to watch. |

Didn’t resemble soccer but it was fun to watch. , maybe #MLSOS should add a blue offside line 30 yards in front of goal. Easier to position a camera on a fixed spot than on a defender’s shoulder. Don’t tell anyone but I actually kinda liked the alternate PK format that MLS used at the beginning. If they are going all-in as a contrarian mcfranchise league that does things differently because ‘Merica they should do it with conviction. |
