So.... how many kids are invited to the RDS Annual Showcase? 10? 100? 1000?
My son got invited... just wanna know what we're heading into & what to expect.
Any intel is helpful. thx

It is not an exclusive club. There are normally 70 to 100 kids per age group. It is all small sided games. It is a cool experience because it is inside the stadium at the training grounds and get an exclusive showcase shirt but the soccer is not that great and roughly half the time is spent on the sideline waiting to rotate into the small sided game. |

Hope your job is remote. Time to get passports and head to Europe we're from Europe... presumably RDS coaches recognized that inherent top quality!!  Keep you posted on what kind of contract he gets offered tonight. |

That's really helpful. Sounds like it'll be a fun night! Thanks! Get there are early. Parking is limited and traffic backs up like crazy. Last year for the 2nd session, the boys were getting out of cars from up a half mile away and walking into the complex to arrive on time. |

Any intel is helpful. thx Each season they have about 6-8 RDS camps around the area. 20-30 camps a year with 100 kids so call it 2500 kids a year do RDS. Based on what they see 100-200 get to participate in the showcase. From there they select players to makeup RDS showcase teams that practice together for a few months then play in a tournament. They just did this a few months in Florida with the 2011s playing each other in the finals and the 2010s winning their division. As a bonus the RDS showcase teams then got a chance to play their academy teams at the training grounds. |

What age/gender was scheduled for March 10th? How was it? Anything to share? Words of advice? Observations?
My son was originally scheduled for the RDS Showcase on March 3rd, but it got cancelled due to weather (tornadoes??!)
We have just been rescheduled for March 31st.
Looking forward to it!

I do not have the inside scoop, but my guess is you were given a test and failed. I wouldn't be surprised if the truly dedicated families and their kids not only had the showcase event but are now playing in Europe. |

Not shooting for the stars, but was wondering if others who attended the event last year, know how long it takes for RDS team to respond:

2. You have been selected to attend Tryouts for RDS Showcase team

The kids who are invited to tryout for the showcase team are mostly kids in the top group of each RDS location at each time slot who the coaches know from training across several sessions. |
