“So refreshing going home and seeing all of the progress made in youth development up and down the country!
From Bolton to Man City, Man United, West Ham, Fulham, Chelsea and of course Crystal Palace. Just catching up with old friend’s, colleagues and old foes is the best CPD you will ever get❤️.
However, as I sit in the departure lounge it gets you thinking why is the USA so against changing what truly is a broken system🥹
New leagues popping up each season with only one thing in common: NO STANDARDS OR OVERSIGHT🤷♂️
Everyone and everything we heard from at all of the clubs we visited on our trip , puts the players at forefront of everything they do, why can’t we🤷♂️
I got emails while traveling, about providing signage, tents and water that no one ever checks and that’s the best we do!
People who have worked at the top levels in the Uk take NO responsibility when they get into influential positions here in the states and get compromised into focusing on money and control rather than promote and guide change🤷♂️
These experienced UK licensed people, tell you one thing one week and change it the next with Absolutely no motive other than 💰signs, so so disappointing.
I do consider myself a youth specialist and the trip reminded me that you have to always do what is the right thing regardless of whether others are doing it. And if they attack you personally, it’s from fear 😧
To all of the clubs and their professional staff, who made 80 people from Charleston totally welcome, educated them and demonstrated that when players are put first, what a great experience all stakeholders have who are involved in the worlds greatest game!
