RA is an excellent coach, good luck. RA cares about fitness, coach-ability, attitude, soccer skills and ball control.

You could say that’s part of soccer skills/soccer IQ, but as with all soccer skills you need to execute under extreme physical duress and at speed or it’s not really a skill. And of course, he requires 100% commitment & buy-in - some coaches might say stuff like that but he means it.

Love RA.
Players coach. Not a parents coach. If you are looking for a coach to blow smoke Coach RA is not for you.
Builds a team down the spine. GK. CB. CM, Striker.
Practices are intense!

How did the NASA ID session go yesterday? Lots of kids? Coach Gispert has his ECNL/RL session tonight for the older kids and I would expect a good attendance for that as kids are always trying to make that team.

Gispert has a reputation for getting boys into college with scholarships and battling for them. NASA fields really competitive teams, so irrespective of how you feel about the ID session they are winning, typically. With that out of the way, most of the older boys know not to go to their ID sessions at this point. The ID session last year was silly. DS and RT should feel embarrassed but I don't remember seeing them there. There were a couple of kids there that were absolute ballers that got ignored for ECNL. I felt bad for the disrespect, but they have still had great seasons at their current club. There were a handful of kids that should have displaced current ECRL kids but were not evaluated by Castros. That team finished 7th this year, I do not know the backstory but they had been dominant I think in years past. Overall I think NASA has one of the worst reputations for ID sessions on the boy's side. It is not just the older age groups... UFA and AFU appear to be good outlet teams for good players that can't get a look at their own club. Concord is a good outlet since they have 4 teams and more movement. Then there is MLS next teams if your in the neighborhood. That is my opinion at least.

NASA did win ECNL at U17 and U19, so they have had good results at those ages.

If we were friends and were having some beers I could walk you through multiple families' experiences, and I think you would say the situations sucked and you would agree with me. Also, I am not suggesting those kids would necessarily make the teams but these were really good kids that got put (not pushed) to a lower field and not even evaluated at the ID session that subsequently left to go play ECRL/NL at other clubs. My point is, they didn't get even an illusion of a chance.
