Do the clubs' profits get funneled to their CEOs/Executive Directors? Is that the primary driver behind club expansion? The more fees paid by the parents, the more one person can skim off of the top as a salary while keeping the club's 501(c)(3) status with the CEO of a place like CF making over $300k?

Many of them have a 501c3 arm that pays to a for profit S Corp or C Corp. In the beginning it was billed as a way to have more competitive games and easier scheduling, but it’s big business now.

That not even close to what CF Boss makes

According to Concorde's most recent tax filing (2020), Gregg was paid $93,250 plus other compensation of $6,960. Ken was paid $132,000 plus other compensation of $7,660. Home Turf consultants (which is owned by Gregg) was paid $157,328 for field maintenance GNB Enterprises (which is owned by Gregg) was paid $150,164 for field maintenance and office support. For those keeping track at home, that is over $400,000 paid to Gregg. The income is also interesting to look at. $2.882 million for player registration fees; $478K for tournaments; $122K for apparel and spirit revenue; $77K for program management fee (assume this is SCCL); $44K for camp registration fees. projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/581569954/202230809349301063/full

Actually SSA also made over $5 million per your same site for 2020 here are the 2021 salaries that were actually listed. They are listed under "Cobb Futbol Club" still. It also looks like Simon took a pay cut between 2020 and 2021 went from $260K to $200K, don't know if the pay decrease was him doing it or the club doing it. Maybe his pay is tied to revenue. Key Employees and Officers Compensation SIMON DAVEY (DIRECTOR OF COACHING) $200,850 GARETH EVANS (COACH) $124,367 SEAN CHAMBERLAIN (OPERATIONS MANAGER) $89,627 SHARON GAUGHAN (PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR) $70,150 projects.propublica.org/nonprofits/organizations/582224949

And that filing isn’t even completely accurate. Because Mirza and others are not full-time employees of AFU, their salaries are not listed on the tax forms. Make no mistake…MM is getting paid a solid 6 figures for the “management” he provides. But sadly, many if not all of the big clubs in ATL, care about padding their pockets rather than developing players. Which ironically, if they focused on that, would naturally expand their program offering and thus increase revenues which they then could share in the profits with the club. As it has been mentioned before…it’s about accountability and the few parents that speak up to hold the club, EBOD’s, coaches and Directors accountable get silenced at every turn. Until more parents take the necessary steps to say, enough is truly enough, this behavior won’t change. The definition of insanity on display!

Which club, on average, has the lowest cost per player with registration and kit fees? As a consumer, that's more key to my decision making than what the executives make. Otherwise, make your money if people are willing to pay it.

Otherwise, make your money if people are willing to pay it. Probably like GA Storm or something still. Of course you get what you pay for over there. Very few if any licensed coaches and the teams are not going to be high level.

Now my question is since we are all paying to a non-profit organizations and now have tax ID numbers if we can write off all the expenses as parents? Could take us to another tax bracket? Just a thought.

Just a thought. No because you’re getting a service for your fees. It’s why every time you make a donation to a 501c3 and they provide you with a letter to document your donation, it says at the bottom of the letter that you received nothing of value in return for your donation. There are situations where you get some value and will disclose that value. The tax deductible portion is the amount you gave less the value received. For soccer clubs, you can make a direct donation that is tax deductible but the player fees are assumed to be equal to the value received (insert your own joke here).

SSA's motto should be "Come play for the best DIII scholarship money can buy"
