Just curious, not asking about the full-time employee that clubs disclose. Instead, your average coach of a U15 SCCL team or U13 ECRL team, etc.

Depending on the level of team, experience, and quality of coach. Fall only low level teams anywhere from $2,000 - $4,000 upper level teams and coaches $6,500 - $12,000 per team.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure a coach is making quite a bit more than $6K for coaching a team where 16 players are paying $2500 each. I honestly have no idea how much my daughter's current coach makes, but I'd guess it would be around the top end ghostofgummer's estimate per team if not a bit more. Of course some of the fees have to go to league registration, referee fees, field rental or maintenance, cover costs of scholarship players, etc. Not to say there's not some left over for the club directors, but I don't think it's as much per player (at most clubs anyway) as you might think. I do know know when my daughter was in Academy we paid about $1500 per year and her coach made about $10k per year for that team. To me that sounds pretty reasonable. I assume coach compensation varies pretty signifanctly from club to club and coach to coach based on a lot of factors.

I know one smaller club recently had a job posting saying $35-$40 per hour.

Most SCCL level coaches are paid $700-800 per team per month. ECNL-RL typically get $1000-$1200 depending on the license the coach has and things like how well they can negotiate.

This is consistent with what I heard a few years back when I asked my daughter’s coach (I had been this coach’s TM for a few years and felt comfortable asking).

Like DunwoodySoccerDad stated, this is closer to reality. I don't know about smaller clubs, but those at the major 5/6 clubs tend to make between $1200 - $2500 per month during the season. SCCL P10 tend to make way less than say an ECNL coach. Certification and experience also helps to swell that amount. Additionally, now you know why coaches are not expected to fund their own travel for games out of town/state. If you happen to be a "director" you may partake in bonuses or get a piece of every registered Academy/Select/Girls/Boys/Rec/etc. Most coaches, unless with some alternate responsibility within the club, tend to have other gigs they do full-time and/or also do private training. Finally, remember that this is per team. So, the Girls ECNL Director at UFA has the following going for him: Director + 2005G 2006G + 2007G +2008G + Bonuses, should equate to a nice chunk of change...

The top coaching rates that are not tied to a director role or some other admin role are $15,000-$20,000 for a team for a year. Those are the top rates I've ever heard for the Atlanta market. And those type rates apply to very very very few coaches.
It's misleading though because the majority of coaches who work with top level teams are directors at clubs. So a lot of the "coaching salary" discussion is clouded by the fact that most of those coaches are getting paid as full-time employees responsible for other stuff besides coaching.
Few coaches getting paid in the above range are "just coaching." Most of the ones I know are college coaches who take a club team on the side at one of the big clubs.
Clubs also differ in their pay scales and how they set rates. Concorde, SSA, and Tophat have always been on the high end of coaching salaries that I'm aware of.
On the lower end, a lot of clubs pay $400-$500 per month per team to younger coaches working with lower level teams. So that coach in SCCL 2 with Ambush or Inter Atlanta's 3rd team is likely somewhere closer to that.

Ref + assignor fees are only a small portion of the total parents pay. With a full roster of 18 players, over the course of a year you are only paying 1 to 1.5 game fees per player. 36 total games / half at home = 18 games.
Ref crew + assignor fees per game range from $200 to $270 per game depending on age and level.
Higher level games also have a trainer and I assume that the contracted fees are probably in the same range to slightly lower.
Field rentals are probably about $150 for a two hour window but it’s been years since I have looked those up.
So on a per game basis for: U13 SCCL Premier game parents pay ~ $350 for ref + fields (200+150) U19 ECNL/MLSN/Girls Academy = ~ $620 (270+200+150)
Obviously the other big cost will be practice field rentals / fees.

Why does it matter? Line them all up. Line up the clubs and their fees and see that the clubs that charge the most offer the most. It cost a lot of money to be in ECNL, SCCL, NPL, MLSNEXT, or whatever. The parents that whine and cry about fees are the ones that have kids they think that are good enough to make the above programs but the coaches disagree. So then they start dumb post like this one to rally the crowd.
