Does anyone have experience with the residential camp option that they’d be willing to share? Specifically interested in hearing if your player enjoyed the experience and also felt like it was beneficial to them? Also interested in the age of your player when they participated? We are considering this for a U10 player.

OP is about Atlanta United Regional Development School Residential Camp. We have experience only with regular RDS sessions, not summer camp.

Really found the RDS spring training to be hugely beneficial so we were thinking about the RDS residential summer camp option at Darlington and trying to get some perspective. I’ve found some opinions on the Red Bull RDS version on FB (overwhelmingly positive) but haven’t been successful with getting info on Atlanta United’s version of it.

No first hand experience but I know several kids who went last summer and they loved it. Last summer was the first time they did it and it was only 1 week

We considered it last summer but weren’t able to fit it in. I wish I had more to share. Did u ask the RDS people directly? Of course they want to sell their offering, but at least they could remark on similarities / differences vs the Spring session, etc.

Of course they want to sell their offering, but at least they could remark on similarities / differences vs the Spring session, etc. They heavily promoted the RDS Summer Camps but directly to the kids. Honestly all of their communication was pretty much directed to the players, parents were just for transportation:-). Which was fine and the coaches/trainers were amazing with the kids and far exceeded my expectations. I didn’t realize however until after the camp email came (and the spring session was over) that there were different camps for just RDS participants. When I overheard them talking to the kids I thought they were referring to the summer camps that are all access to anyone who signs up and had no idea there would be a residential option. I think we will probably do it and if so, I’ll be sure to report back on what I learn about the experience.
