Can't believe this forum is almost 10 years old.
You young timers don't understand what a cesspool the old Georgia soccer forum was. It was U G L Y!!!!! spam, name calling, lies, you name it. It was reality TV before reality tv.
I created this on a whim to show, a little moderation go's a long way!!
Credit to you all and the kids!

Yea, I'm old school -- when I get into something new, the first thing I go read is forums (tv, new car, college teams etc)

This place has plenty of name calling. And a large number of the most active users that post participate in the name calling. It is typically what we would label the more "progressive" on the board that do it the most and cheer each other on. I think the difference is when people agree with the name calling they call it cute. Call me crazy, I don't think anyone should make posts personal on a message board. This forum doesn't have spam, I would give you that. |

As a parent that is new to the scene I am so appreciative of this place and the posters here. It’s not perfect but it’s a hell of a lot better than nothing.

This forum doesn't have spam, I would give you that. You make some decent points-I think soccer as a whole has a more progressive following so I would expect more “liberal” minded posts. There are some frequent conservative commentators on this forum as well. I tend to be more conservative as I have gotten more gray hair-but I try to stay open minded. As you are probably aware, my favorite saying is “soccer is all about opinions.” Mine are no better than anyone else’s 🤣. PS-Soccerhouse and the moderators work hard to delete the spam as soon as it appears. |

forums will always be a method of psychiatric therapy.
Sometimes people just have to get things off their chest and hit send.
I'll be honest -- I've typed up paragraphs on venting, that I ended up deleting and never pushed reply or post new thread, but mentally I had to get it off my chest.
I've been fairly censored in my experience in youth soccer in Georgia. I've observed some truly nasty things, and some incredible things as well. Not sure if they balance out, because what is always lost is these are kids, they are not professional athletes.
I've had coaches joke with me about parents and the fact that its only u10 soccer -- yet the following weekend the same coach will only play 1 kid 10 minutes the entire game......
we can also agree to disagree, because there was not a single positive thing about the old forum.

Wanted to add my appreciation for this forum.
I played Classic soccer before the days of ECNL, ECNL-RL, and SCCL. This forum has helped me understand all the changes to soccer in Georgia since that time. Without it, I’d be another confused Academy parent trying to make sense of all of the “elite” leagues and teams.

Nothing wrong with a little slide tackle here and there, maybe a dirty elbow in the back from time to time. |

It allowed me to be WAY more informed and make better decisions for my kid(s). I was on this around the same time the old forum was going away, and I can say without a doubt, this is SOOOOO much better than the old forum. Trying to find info in the old forum was like looking for a needle in the haystack.... 50 pages of insults, repeated gibberish or insult lines that took up 10 pages just to annoy other posters, then a page that had one good insight, followed by more of the same nonsense. Ugh. Then this came along, bless you. As for the progressive vs conservative slants on here, I trend more conservative, but I like that both sides are allowed to speak freely. I also like that it still takes ALOT to get a thread locked or removed. It great that all voices are allowed to be heard. In fact there have been times where I've seen post and been like "oh, that's getting this thread locked!" only to be proven wrong. Anyway, congratulations and thanks from this poster!!! |

Thanks for creating this place. It is not the same as the old anonymous forum. Rarely a mention of Mountain Dew in the last ten years.
Here.. names may not be used but at least there is accountability and consistency based on having a user name. Even if some people change them. Club soccer is great and terrible at the same time. Well it was. I’m about four years out if it other than as a ref.
I wish this place had more interest in pro and college soccer.. I guess I could wander back to bigsoccer.
