Can someone please tell me what the Atlanta United Futures program is? I know a 2010/U11 that was just invited to the program. Does the boy stay with his current club and play with an AU club on the side (like ODP) or is it a full-time program?

Does the boy stay with his current club and play with an AU club on the side (like ODP) or is it a full-time program? It is a good chance for your son and AU to kick the tires early in the process. It also adds a way for him to learn how AU trains and for AU to train him on how they do things. It also gives him a chance to see where he stacks amongst the local "top" players in his age group who will also get called to participate in the AUF. Prior this model was only used for the youngest of age groups, but with AU going by way of the Seattle Sounders model, AU's goal is to have two age groups U15 & U17 and have everyone else do the Futures - Discovery model which keeps them with their local clubs. Good-Luck and Congratulations...
