Hi, looking for current opinions on UFA Norcross for Boys and Concorde Fire Central for coaching and development. I have of course heard all the great things about NASA but it’s just way too far for us.
Also does anyone have an idea of how many teams for each in the academy 2014 ages for boys and how they’re defined, ie gold, silver, etc?

Ufa Norcross has two teams Premier coached by Juan Cruz and Red by Matt Holmes.
Concorde Central has six teams, Black, White, Red, Gold, Silver and Bronze. Saxon Venair and Byron Peters oversee the 14s for CF so if you’re looking for the better coaching it’s Concorde. Add in there’s more stability compared to UFAN whose top players have to leave for Forsyth.
If you want ECNL/RL Concorde is the answer. If you want a good Academy experience then maybe UFAN or even Rush out of Brook Run.

I can’t speak for CF, but my son’s Academy team recently played UFA Norcross Red. The UFA team seemed organized and moved the ball well across the field via short passes. I would be comfortable with my kid playing there if I thought the coach was a fit. Only caveat is if your kid is a superstar with ECNL aspirations, you’ll have to move to the Forsyth location in a few years or find another ECNL club nearby (e.g., CF or Atlanta Fire United).

One of the big differences between the two clubs is that UFA runs a pooled academy program so your player may move up or down depending on how they are playing. Concorde does not run pool play so the team you make is your team for the season. It's still academy so sometimes there is movement if players are missing, but there shouldn't be any expectation of moving up or down. Coaches at both locations are solid.
There is also a big difference in the level of the top teams. Concorde Central's Black team is probably the strongest team in the state at the 2014 level. UFA's top team is solid, but Concorde would likely beat them by 5+ goals. We've played them both this year. Our UFA game was very evenly matched. Concorde destroyed us.

100% without question they would win by at least 5 goals It's not even a discussion. it will be a 5 goal (or more) win a 5 goal win is the beginning and the top of the probability distribution and then decreasing in probability from 6 goals up to, I'd reckon, ~20 (+) goals at the lowest distribution Now, it is perfectly valid for you to wonder "why not 21+ or 22+ or 30+" I dont have an answer for that.

SoccerRankings App prediction is 2014 CF Central Black 7, UFA Norcross Premier 1. The app has been pretty accurate in my experience.

Just enjoy the ride, so much changes as these boys grow and mature. The bigger more mature kids will occupy most the top teams until u14ish, then finally the other kids start to grow, and everything changes drastically.
one of my kids u19 teams, only had 2 kids left from the u12 DA team. remember that was 26 kids on a roster, and only 2 remained through u19. so much change occurs, and often many of the top u9-u12 players get caught.

I've seen both play this season. Concorde is a stronger team, but can get overconfident. That Milton team works their tails off for the entire game, regardless of the score or opponent. Both are really good teams, but I personally think Concorde is stronger, top to bottom.

Great to hear the perspective of someone that has seen them both play. I saw that NASA Milton is at the top of the rankings for 2014 and 2015 boys and I remember seeing CF Central there last year. It looks like they met in the first tournament of the fall season. I found it interesting that the top 2 teams got a chance to play head to head and NASA won that round. Too bad it doesn't happen more often.

Just looked at the list of 2014 teams for the GSA invitational in December. There are a lot of good teams including NTH-NASA Elite Milton and CF Central Black. Anticipate they’ll both be in the top division; hope they get a chance to play.
