In terms of overlap, I heard rumors that *Girls ECNL planned to schedule their future playoffs/nationals at the same time as GA (Girls Academy) in order to conflict on purpose.
I would love it if one of you anons could confirm that one way or another.

I would love it if one of you anons could confirm that one way or another. Looks to be true. During my daughter's GA Winter Showcase/Playoff a month ago I noticed the ECNL girls had their showcase in TN. Many scouts had to divide and conquer or just decide on which league was more important to them. I'm sure the leagues are just doing that for the benefit of the kids. Taking a look at the summer showcases and it looks like GA and ECNL are aligned again. |

The Nashville Showcase was at the same time as last year, so I don't think it was specifically scheduled to match GA. Could GA be matching ECNL?? Honest question, since ECNL has been around longer. And I don't feel as though ECNL is particularly threatened by GA, as I don't see a trend of teams dropping the former for the latter. |

ECNL posted all of their 2023-2024 event dates last May. And they have followed the same weekend/timeframes for years (before GA even existed). There has been an ECNL showcase the first weekend of December for as long as I can remember, it just used to be in Greenville. So I don't think they are purposely trying to schedule on top of GA.
But yes, it is unfortunate for all parties (both leagues, players, and college coaches) that they overlap now.

It's not even worth mentioning as a concept First they ignore you then they laugh at you then they fight you then you win. For the most part ECNL has ignored GA. If ECNL has gone from ignoring GA to considering GA a competitor, it's a significant change. |
