Many schools are having their first friendly this week, regular season starts the first week of February, any thoughts on which schools should be strong this year? Any schools loaded with seniors that performed well last year? Last year's champs in the bigger districts were -
7A - Lambert 6A - Lassiter 5A - Dalton
I assume Dalton will reload again only because they reload every year and make it to the state championship.

Lambert have to be favorites to repeat. Only 4-5 of last years Champions graduated!! And the new players in squad (Freshmen and sophomores) are all ECNL players. South Forsyth had a strong season last year and could go all the way this year.

Some good games over the next week - BT who was final four the last two years has River Ridge and St. Pius this week. Lassiter gets Walton tonight, both teams played in their respective 7/6 finals last year. River Ridge gets Walton on Thursday. Collins Hill and Peachtree Ridge meet up, both starting 2-0 and had good runs last year in playoffs.

Their schedule looks weak to me so far and doesn't look like they play anyone until Lambert or Milton. So far they've played Meadowcreek (2-2-1), Buford (1-2), Lanier (0-2-1 - 6A), West Hall (1-3) and Centennial (2-1-1 - 5A). Dunwoody in about 10 days may tell us something but really will not know what South has until they get Lambert on March 8th. They should be undefeated until then.

I heard that South beat Lambert on PKs last night. 1-1 was score before the shoot-out. They did. Probably looking at two of the top 5 teams in 7A. Would not be surprised if they met again in the playoffs. Overall first half Lambert owned going up 1-0, but missed several chances to add a second goal (South's keeper had a part in that as he probably made 4-5 really nice saves). South barely threatened. Second half opened with Lambert earning a PK which South's Goal Keeper saved. Huge moment. If Lambert goes up 2-0 with the pouring rain they win the game. South moved the ball very well (their midfield is one of the best I've seen) in the second half but never really could do much in the final third. Their goal came on somewhat of a fluke as a Lambert defender was shielding the ball rolling to the goal keeper was bumped in the back by a South player. He fell into the GK dislodging the ball and South player scored easily. Probably should have been a foul but South was aggressive all night and it paid off. The rest of the half was even with no goals. Lambert owned both OT periods but could not score. South almost seemed to be playing to go to PK's. Lambert's first PK was saved and South never missed. Ballgame.

Yes they beat Northgate but it wasn't as convincing as I thought they would. Had Northgate had a semblance of an actual attack it likely would have been 3-2 or 4-3 McIntosh vs. 4-0 for McIntosh because Northgate was getting penetration they just couldn't put it in the back of the net and also considering the fact that Northgate's keeper should have gotten 2 of those goals McIntosh scored, easy saves for an average keeper. Figured Dalton would wipe the floor with McIntosh.

I hear the Chattahoochee - Northview game had 5 red cards last night and something about a ball boy calling a player the N word.
Anyone have any details on this?

Is it sad that so many people have accused so many people of using the "N" word or being racist when it turns out it was false and the person accusing was lying that I have my doubts that really went down in this incident? I mean sure it could have and its sad that the tactic gets used so much when it is false that maybe a true issue will be doubted (Boy who cried wolf...), but I have seen so many in altercations who were in the wrong or at least equally in the wrong as the other party pull out the race card and accuse the other party of something that didn't really happen to try to get away with their bad behavior or knew they were in the wrong and were just trying to save face.

The ball boy (JV player) said something bad. Northview players went after him and got 4 red cards. A lot of red cards for cussing. 1 red card for Hooch. (source from a Hooch player). Not entirely sure if the "N" word was used or not.

My goodness. You're everywhere. Do you have an alert set up for the mention of any minority group? People don't get chased by 4 players for saying something kind. You don't need to swoop in and save the unidentified ball boy from an unjust persecution that's never going to happen. Your posts make people uncomfortable. Your unprovoked posts created specifically to undermine allegations of racism are unsubstantiated, and contribute to an environment that discourages Black and Brown players and parents from participating in soccer. Give it a rest.

Why don't you quit ASS-Uming stuff about me and just ignore me if you don't like my comment. It seems the person with details can not confirm that word was used which is typical for accusations such at this most of the time. Again boy who cried wolf. I'm not denying the kid probably said something to provoke, but I find it funny that it is always that word or some "racist" comment accusation that normally turns out to not be true at all. As I said in my post the ones lying about such accusations make people not believe any of them happened and thus a real one will not be taken seriously. My comment basically was that if I were a betting man I would put all my money on that word not being used, and law of averages recently would have me winning big money. Is that a sad statement about the overuse of accusations such as this? Yep it is. I'm tired of the media and everyone just "assuming" some accusation is 100% true without any evidence and then it turns out not to be, but that person's reputation has already been drug through the dirt due to it being a false accusation, and the media (and most of the people like you in this forum will assume it is true) and when the truth eventually comes out they never update it with the same intensity and never apologize for the wrong initial reporting because it doesn't fit their (or your) agenda to do so.

They just don't like that the word "woke" was coined by them, and their views are so radical the right and actually the average "normal" person makes fun of those "woke" folks now turning the word into a joke because of how crazy their theories and views are. Its like they sit in their bubble and assume everyone thinks like them, and when they come across someone that doesn't, they try to shut you up and shut you down (like dabe above). The normal person is tired of the BS.

I am calling out your posts specifically because you regularly make unsubstantiated exclusionary claims that perpetuate stereotypes and dangerous tropes and then state them as fact. What you said in your comments is just not true and is entirely unverifiable. Contrary to your belief, it is not the isolated incident of someone lying about being called the n-word that causes people to ignore actual instances of racism; it is the gross generalization of Black people that is harmful. I am not interested in making this a bigger discussion than it needs to be. I am not asking that you refrain from expressing opinions. However, I hope you will consider your words next time you post and express your views in a way that doesn't aim to (intentionally or not) isolate an entire demographic of people. This site is for everyone.

I went to the Whitewater vs McIntosh game in the rain and thought McIntosh has a good team. Whitewater GK made a few mistakes but Whitewater played a good game. I wasn't in love with the way #11 acted. He makes a slide tackle and jumps up celebrating in the Whitewater players face. He seemed to take a lot of cheap shots. Whitewater dad said his kid plays at Moba with #11 and that's how he plays.

In my experience I believe the chance of that word being used is pretty high. The use of discriminatory words has gone up in the last decade. My kids have also told me of things happening or happened in school that would have NEVER happened in my high school. No way! And my high school was huge so it isn’t that. The world is smaller now. People are exposed to good and bad things easier and more often and it is harder and harder to parent kids. I know I have worked to balance advice, oversight, education and allowing independence. But not every parent has the time or energy to do so or even the will. Exposure to people who are a “bad influence” as we used to say, sometimes is impossible to stop. I can say I am not surprised to hear that a ball boy may have said that, just sad. I hope that the situation was investigated and the child provided with education and the victim with support.

Now that we've take some time to discuss the bad side of soccer maybe we can get back to discussing what's going on heading into the final stretch run to the playoffs.
Here are your one seeds currently in 7A (cool if someone posts other divisions):
Region 1: Richmond Hill and Colquit county tied. RH has 1 region game left (against Colquit)and Colquit has 2 (0-6 Valdosta and RH).
Region 2: Pebblebrook. Pebblebrook should stay 1.
Region 3: Hillgrove. Likely finish as the 1 (up 3 points, and a game in hand with 3 for them to play).
Region 4: Greyson Undefeated in region, up 6 points, 2 games to play. It's their's.
Region 5: Three way tie (3-1) between Walton, Kennesaw Mountain and Osbourne. One game to g: Walton and Osbourne play each other. Kennesaw Mountain plays 0-4 Cherokee. KM should get to 4-1 and win it if Walton and Osbourne go to pens. If not KM Goal differential 4/5 back.
Region 6: South Forsyth. Already clinched region.
Region 7: Peachtree Ridge. PR has the advantage but Discovery sitting 3 points back, a game in hand. Final game they play each other. Could go either way at this point.
Region 8: Collins Hill and Mill Creek tied with 6-2 records. CH has the easier next game but they finish up playing each other. Either could grab one spot.
Top 10 Teams per Scorbord as of 3/24.
1 South Forsyth High School - 10 - 1 - 1 (4 - 0 - 0) (Last game: Beat Denmark 3-2)
2 Lambert High School - 11 - 1 - 1 (3 - 1 - 0) (Last game: Beat Milton 4-1)
3 Hillgrove High School - 13 - 1 - 0 (5 - 0 - 0) (Last game: Beat Pope 2-1)
4 Discovery High School- 11 - 1 - 1 (3 - 0 - 0) (last Game: Played Wesley - no score reported as of now)
5 Grayson High School - 12 - 2 - 0 (9 - 0 - 0) (Last game: Beat Newton 8-0)
6 Milton High School- 10 - 2 - 0 (2 - 2 - 0) (Last game: Lost to Lambert 1-4)
7 Peachtree Ridge High School - 9 - 2 - 0 (4 - 0 - 0) (Last game: Beat Berkmar 3-2)
8 Pebblebrook High School - 9 - 3 - 0 (3 - 0 - 0) (Last game: Beat Carrolton 4-1)
9 Archer High School - 10 - 3 - 0 (6 - 2 - 0) (Last game: Beat Brookwood 2-1)
10 Collins Hill High School - 9 - 4 - 0 (6 - 2 - 0) (Last game: Lost to Mountainview 0-2))

Many schools are having their first friendly this week, regular season starts the first week of February, any thoughts on which schools should be strong this year? Any schools loaded with seniors that performed well last year? Last year's champs in the bigger districts were - 7A - Lambert 6A - Lassiter 5A - Dalton I assume Dalton will reload again only because they reload every year and make it to the state championship. River Ridge returns everybody from State runner up season last year. River Ridge plays Sequoyah tomorrow, which will be a great game. Then April 11th they play Hillgrove which will be game of the year.

Also, want to give a school a shoutout I've been keeping my eye on and have been underrated and not talked about. Cass High School, has been very good all year. They have some good and great wins. They have South Paulding coming up, will be a good test. Not sure if they have the same fire power as McIntosh, but I would love to see them play in playoffs.

I looked at State brackets for 6A and it looks like they have region 6 and 7 matched up against one another which seems odd since six of the top ten teams in 6A are from those two regions. A lot of really good teams from those regions are going to have an early exit based on the brackets.
