Johns Creek is stacked with ECNL players on all three teams. Centennial has a couple quality ones but no where near the same depth. Not familiar with Alpharetta.

My son plays for Alpharetta and they play Centennial this upcoming Tuesday and JC Creek later this month. Centennial and JC made the state final four last year in their classifications. JC had the stronger boys program last year. Hoping that will change this year.

Johns Creek gets Walton tonight, it will be interesting to see how those two really good teams stack up. Fair to note these are for the most part early season so you never know how teams are affected by injuries/illness or just uncertainty in positions.

Should be 3-0 but a bad call from the turf monster, not a player, leads to a Walton PK to get on the board. Still a 2nd half to play but it’s not looking good for the east Cobb snobs. Heard Walton coach made some very questionable cuts of high level nasa ECNL players so it may be coming back to bite him in the arse.

Final? And yeah Walton is (always) stacked with high level players so there are always disappointments.

Ok, I have to call out this comment a little. Don't think it was made in malice:
..but a bad call from the turf monster, not a player, leads to a Walton PK to get on the board.
It's a lot easier to make some calls from an elevated seated position. Most penalties I call are at the end of a 30-40 yard sprint, at field level, with players weaving in and out in front of me. Upon VAR review (many HS games are cataloged for viewing), we're mostly right. There are always a few we want back. A quick discussion with the AR is helpful as well...
Another fun one - ball in and out on the end line when the end zone boundary is painted white. On a regular field, it's easy to see white (line), green (grass), white (ball) and make a call. Most HS stadiums we see gray (line), white (end zone), white (ball). Yeah, it's damn near impossible unless you're right on the line, particularly in the corner of death away from the AR.
Back to regularly scheduled posting...

Back to regularly scheduled posting... I do not understand how not only referees, but also players and coaches do not get confused with all the football lines. As spectator I have to constantly look for the corner flags to remind myself what color is the outbounds line, not even mention figuring out where is the penalty kick box. Personally, I would dislike being the main referee in those fields...

Well, with all of those lines and the seems that come from them there will be more turf monsters so…🤷♂️ And tbh on most HS fields the goal line is the easiest to see bc the standard for football is to then have a wide white line after it to help the pointy ball refs see where a foot lands. As for HS refs making 30-40 yard sprints, I do congratulate you for being one of the few who is apparently fit enough and properly warmed up enough to do that.

Anyone has a good sense on which of these high schools has strongest soccer program/team for boys. Assume that the mid will make varsity in either of these Thanks in advance! Where even are these places?
