Looks like Tophat and NASA for RPL in the Spring. Now I'm curious whether CF and GSA will respond at State Cup by stacking their Athena A teams with ECNL players to try and take a spot for next Fall at U15. I think both ECNL teams would be able to challenge for a spot. I wonder how far the clubs will go to take that shot? And how would the players in their current Athena A teams respond to it if the clubs did bring lots of ECNL players to State Cup? Isnt that the every year complaint? that they bring ECNL and DA players at State Cup and bench the regular players?

DA players can't (and to my knowledge don't) play State Cup with any club. That's a federation rule, not a Georgia rule. Concorde is funny with ECNL. I know they had some girls at State Cup in some age groups last year, but other age groups played without any ECNL participation. I don't know how they go about making the decision of whether or not to send the ECNL players. AFU does send ECNL players regularly, but they don't have an Athena A team at U14. GSA also regularly uses ECNL players. So I wonder if that would continue to State Cup. Maybe it will depend on what seed they have and how their chances to get out of group play look. I wonder. For all of them, I assume that's something they tell parents about at the start of the season. Nothing wrong with it in my opinion as long as everyone knows going in. DA players are not supposed to, but they "quit" DA right before SC. I remember people complaining last SC about GSA doing that as far as ECNL players playing, I personally don't think its fair to those players that get benched to make space for them. If those players worked their butts off to get the team where they are at, then they should be able to compete at SC. Not sure if they tell parents or not, im not at an ECNL club

Can you have more players on your roster for State Cup than you can in the regular season (18)? I've seen GSA's roster and from what I can tell the only player rostered on both that team and their ECNL team is their goalkeeper. They had 18 players on the roster. Unless they can roster more than 18, I don't think they'll be able to add from ECNL unless someone's out that weekend or they drop someone from the roster for the weekend (which I hope they would never even consider!). I believe they have some true U13s on their U14 ECNL roster so I bet you'll see some ECNL players on their U13 State Cup team.
I haven't seen CF's roster so I don't know if they have some ECNL players rostered on that team during the season. They only have 11 players who are truly on the Athena A team. They likely won't be able to borrow from the U13s for State Cup since I assume their 13s will be there too so maybe they'll borrow from ECNL.
